“Almost a Perfect Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

This hotel, which is located practically in the Victoria Station grounds, is one of the best experiences for one to have while exploring and enjoying London. First of all, it has a back entrance to the station itself, which is both convenient (!!!) and a wayto avoid the legendary terrible winter weather and crowds. The location is one of the best features, as the station is where one boards and disembarks the Gatwick Express. It is also literally steps away from the Victoria Palace where Billy Eliot is playing. It is a short walk to Buckingham Palace.

The major bus station is also located here as well as the Victoria Tube Station where one can travel the Central/District and Victoria Tube lines. The rooms themselves are well appointed, and WiFi is complimentary. The staff are friendly, helpful, and pleasantly able to assist in any way. The only downside is that there are insufficient outlets for power if you have need of using more than one laptop, phone charger, iPod/Pad, toothbrush, etc. Highly recommended for any leisure/business traveler.

Room Tip: The Wing Rooms are smaller, though it puts you on the quiet side of the hotel. We chose the main bu...

Dear Mike M,

Thank you for the fantastic review.

Our location is indeed hard to beat for the Gatwick Express and of course exploring London.

I was also pleased to read that you made use of our superfast Wi-Fi which is now complimentary for our guests.

I look forward to welcoming you back soon.

Kind Regards

We arrived at midnight, after check in, it was straight to the room, or not!! This is my only gripe, we had to use x2 lifts to get to our room. Once we sussed it out it was fine.
I have no complaints just compliments about the room and hotel.
Comfy bed and pillows, rain shower, bose docking station, iron and board, fridge with complimentary bottled water, endless list.........
Victoria is well situated in central London, we went everywhere by taxi within the circle line and paid between £6-£9 which is cheap between 4 people.
I would have no hesitation to return to this hotel

Room Tip: If you are less mobile, request a room near to the reception

Dear Doreen298,

Thank you for the great review.

The Hotel dates back to 1862 and some of our rooms are a little walk from Reception; my team are on hand though to make sure any less mobile guests are allocated rooms nearer the Lifts.

I look forward to welcoming you back on your next trip to London.

Kind Regards

Such a Beautiful Hotel. Old Victorian decor, just amazing. Victoria Station is behind the Hotel actually attached filled with shops to browse . Convenient location within walking distance to major attractions. I just Love this Hotel and would definately stay here again.

I used this hotel on a one night single person basis. The room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom spotless. And as a single booking I was not treated to a poky, second class room.
Breakfast was delicious.
But most impressive was the responsive customer service at reception, housekeeping and the Brasserie. Unlike some hotels when I requested a replacement kettle for the one that did not work someone actually responded (so often you can wait in vain).
The entrance has been renovated very sympathetically giving an imposing feel on entry - and the entrance straight off Victoria is very useful.

Stay at the hotel for three nights in january, Upon arrival we stept into a absolutely amazing lobby. The reception staff and the consergie was very helpful. Standard twin room wasn´t so good as I thought it would be for a four star hotel. It´s small with a minimum of wardrobes for clothes. Noisy A/C. Maybe an upgrade would be better...
Best: Location, actually at Victoria station but quiet in the night. Realy easy to get around in London with this location.
Worst: A cup of hot chocolate orded in the tea room. Light brown water, but who travels to London for hot chocolate...
Overall a highly recommendable hotel!

The Grosvenor is huge and impersonal, set in a grand building next to Victoria station (with a back door onto the concourse). I've stayed a number of times, but had a couple of nights this month. The recent investment in rooms has paid off - much more comfortable, cleaner and modern. Still wouldn't eat here though - pricey - when there are better choices within a stones throw.

We stayed at the grosvenor on a snowy January night.
Beautiful hotel and friendly staff.
Checkin was quick and bags were taken up to our room straight away.
Our room was clean and comfortable as was the bathroom.
We were staying for just one night, dinner and thearter.
We enjoyed two fantastic coctails in their coctail bar I recomend the Bloody mary made with vodca infused with smoky bacon amazing.
Its a wonderful building and is part of Victoria station.Which means getting around London is extreemly quick. Our room was on the station side so you could hear the tanoy but it doesnt go on all night and didnt wake us in the morning. If your a light sleeper maybe request a room on the other side of the hotel they are that friendly and profesional that I cant see it being a problem.
The only gripe was the size of the piece of furniture the T.V sat on ,its massive which makes walking around the bed a little tricky but more importantly you cant open the door halfway open which means you cant get the tray out that the coffee and tea facilities sit on,which is a bit daft. This could be easily rectified by replacing it with a smaller piece of furniture.
Check out time was 12 mid day which was nice and check out was quick and friendly, they kept all our bags whilst we went sight seeing.
The location is brilliant and we will definately be staying at this hotel when we return to London.
All in all we had a wonderful stay and we highly recomend it.

Room Tip: Rooms are quieter on the other side of the station.
