Description: Assaggetti offers guests the chance to try selections of small dishes in chic and welcoming surroundings. Signature dishes such as Straccetti from Siena (fresh pasta with Tuscan sausage) and Tagliata All’Aceto Balsamico (grilled entrecote steak with balsamic vinegar) can be served in larger, more traditional portions or shared with a range of fantastic dishes. Assaggetti is ideally placed for diners to enjoy earthy food offering good value before or after a night at the theatre or somewhere to catch up with friends and enjoy an evening tasting dishes and enjoying our extensive Prosecco selection.

Nice place to have a snack before theatre or if you are looking for light meal. I love the fennel and potatoe soup . Try the selection of small pizzas. The good thing about the restaurant is that you can try all dishes as they are small or can share with friends.

We walked in at a few minutes to 10:00 PM. The restaurant closed at that time, but they seated us. Service was terrible, they clearly wanted to close. The manager was rushing the server, and many items were not available. Several orders were incorrect when the food arrived. The food was just average. They should simply not have admitted us, which would have been fine and understandable. Would never go back, there are just too many good Italian selections in London.

Great menu, you can choose food in small tapas portions or as a main course. It's a great way to share food with friends and get to taste a selection of things. I had the Mango and Squid salad and Scampi ravioli, they were both very tasty.

Food is served in small plate portion and is delicious. Be warned that the tip is included in the price. The ambience could be better.

We were going to see One Man, Two Guvnors and thought for a change from Prezzo etc we'd try this restaurant. If you are not hungry, try it. If you are, forget it. No quibble with the food itself or the service - neither were anything special but also nothing exceptional. Two of us went for their 3 course set deal at £11.25 which we now realise saved us a whole 75p each! To be fair the waitress did warn us that the portions were small but that was an understatement! We sent for a second main meal for my husband after he'd eaten the first - if there were 10 strands of spaghetti each time I'd be surprised! He could easily have eaten a third helping and he is not a greedy man. My 83 year old mother chose from the main menu and went for the "large" risotto and I thought she'd never manage it - until I saw it! The puds were minute too.
Also, beware the bill includes a "suggested optional gratuity of 12.5%" which my husband thought implied that he could choose to add and then left a decent tip (goodness knows why!) which added insult to injury! Wish we'd gone to Prezzo!
