I found this place whilst looking for somewhere to go for a quiet drink with a friend after some shopping. The shop is very beautifully laid out. They had a small tea menu and I had one of their iced teas with a cordial. It was absolutely amazing. Really simple and clean flavours. I have given this an "excellent" rating as it would've been nice if the shop had a tea bar where you could sit inside and try before you buy which I didn't see. Also there wasn't enough of a selection for sets of assortment of teas. Some of the teas were not labelled so it was very difficult to work out how much they would be. Definitely a shop worth going to if you like good quality tea.

We stumbled across The East India Company by accident a while ago and have been back about half a dozen times. It's located fairly hidden away on a small street off Regent Street near Oxford Circus. The shop is beautifully layed out, with very friendly and helpful staff. Whether your budget is only a few pounds all the way upto to a fair few hundred pounds there is just so much choice. A fantastic selection of teas of course along with coffees, biscuits, chocolates, condiments, preserves etc.....not to mention all the cups, teapots and other great looking serving items.

After a long day of tubing and walking around London, we found ourselves walking right by this place and just had to stop in. The staff were all extremely knowledgeable about not just their products offered but tea, coffee, and accompanying foods in general. Several samples were set out around the store and staff happily answered questions, even offering us tastes of things that weren't set out. The atmosphere is warm and calm and it really was a nice place to stop at the end of a long day. Yes, it's a shop, and the purpose is to sell goods, but we saw plenty of people come in without buying anything, and the staff treated everyone like they were the most important people on the planet.

Ok, so my husband saw this store advertised in the tourist magazine that was in our hotel room. As he loves tea, I love coffee and we both love gourmet food we decided to check it out. We fell in love! We got there the day after the grand opening and bought the place out ( not an easy feat as we then had to fit the stuff into our luggage for the trip home!). The staff were so very helpful and knowledgeable. The food we feel is fairly reasonably priced. The selection is huge. What we really like are all the different items available for tasting..
So, now we return to London a few months later and head there again. It is just as good, if not better! Again, we got a very knowledgeable salesman who we think was the manager. He was so helpful, brewing tea for my husband and espresso for me. Delish!
What was really great was he asked if we were on their mailing list (which we weren't). He added us and last weekend I got an email with an offer for 2 free gifts with purchase and the absolute best...free shipping! And yes, they honored the offer even though it was being shipped to the US fromm the UK. We ordered a bunch of things and the shipping would have cost us 35 pounds or about $50! Quite the savings!
