Went to Cote Brasserie with friends for an early dinner and took advantage of their early bird set menu. The chocie was limited but there was something for everyone.

The restaurant was busy but service was swift and productive with drinks being served quickly and each course comign to us in the right time with no need to ask.

Overall it is good value, the set menu is with a punt, great for an enjoyable and tasty meal which does what it says on the tin. I will visit again and i would recommend.

We dropped in to Cote for an early evening light meal. This is clearly a popular place, and we were asked to go downstairs as upstairs was reasonably full. The menu was creative and interesting, the service was surprisingly fast (we're still not sure quite how) but not over-bearing (aimed at the pre-theatre diners' market). A good meal to send us on our way. The environment downstairs was obviously more functional than relaxing, but it didn't feel stuffy or too hot, in spite of low ceilings and quite tight packing of customers. We could have done with a coat rack, though. The ratings below apply to eating downstairs - I think the atmosphere upstairs was much more relaxed.

It was a convenient choice as it is just right beside our hotel at St Martin's Lane, and we had some Moules, which you can tell the chef knows what he is cooking, and he does it well.
Highlight came when my order of Cassoulet came. It was duck confit in the most tasty sauce I ever had with beans and chorizo in it.
Didnt have space for any dessert, as we had starters, but I would say its a good meal.
Pity the service isnt exactly the best kind of service, because it was abit slow, but the restaurant is really really busy and bustling.
