Some great beers on offer, 10 ales in total and some excellent service and food to boot, with a great historical location not to be missed

Four couples went here based on menu on their website. We were particularly interested in their range of pies as they advertise the pub as The Pie House. When we got there we found out that most of their pies were not available. So most of us had fish & chips. After this we then ordered cheese & biscuits and were told that there was no cheese ! We then asked for coffee and was told that the coffee machine had been turned off , this was at 9pm !
The waitress was very sympathetic but could do nothing to help us out.
How does this place survive ?

A must see quaint English pub. Excellent food, friendly staff. Group of 6 and we all had the fish and chips which was very good.

A must see site due to age and interior atmosphere. Good drink selection incl ciders and beer. Food avg and not a reason to visit.

We stopped in for a late lunch on a weekday afternoon. Pies are the featured items and we selected the beef and ale pie and the chicken mushroom pie. These were served very hot and very quickly by a warm staff member who had already taken our drinks order. The pies were perfectly prepared and delicious. A very good experience. Fair prices. Great staff. Noise level medium.
