Description: A member of the iconic fleet dating back to 1873, Nicholson's offers timeless British pub hospitality. A fine stock of smooth and silky cask ales are pulled at the bar, while homely British classics are served in the dining room. The carefully chosen wine list brings together some great international bottles, while a Cask Ale Club is offered for any true beer aficionados.

A very cozy and friendly pub which has impressive Victorian marble columns and statues. lots of lovely woodwork.
Add to that great guest beers and a very decent pie, I'm a happy bunny!

Beautiful Victorian decor. Best looking interior of the 25 pubs we saw in London. Great English beer selection and friendly staff.

We reviewed this pub on trip advisor and thought we would book based on all the positive reviews. We wanted to experience good English pub food in an iconic English pub. The pub was fabulous and well worth a visit. We went at 6pm and it was buzzing outside with after 5 drinkers. We were seated in the small quaint restaurant which was great. unfortunately the food was very disappointing and was definitely nothing to write home about. There were eight of us and none of us could do a rave. Don't have the salmon .... not good at all.
Such a shame, a pub with so much more potential.

Take the Underground to Black Friar station, come out by the bridge, turn right, cross the street, and you are there. A pub that is unique in every way, from the pie shaped building with the clock and corpulent friar above the door, Art Nouveau interior decor, many varieties of marble line the walls, abundant reliefs of jovial friars, and a great range of real ales. This was our second time there, and we brought a friend along, she loved it.

Love this place. A great location, a beautiful building, good beer, and the food has been solid pub grub every time we've been there. Well worth. Stop.
