“Linking Buckingham Palace to Trafalgar Square”
Reviewed June 4, 2014

The Mall is the road, just under a full kilometer in length, which links Trafalgar Square with Buckingham Palace in central London. Interestingly the road is tinted in red colour to produce the image of a large red carpet leading up to the Palace.

With good eyesight and blue skies you can see end to end quite well. You can also a long row of Union Jack flags lining the Mall, on each side. In all, its a nice view and something many visitors will be interested in seeing for a few minutes. It is also the most direct walking path linking these two attraction areas.

Unfortunately, we find the traffic driving up and down the Mall to make this a less preferred approach between Trafalgar and the Palace. Instead, we prefer walking through St. James Park, which is the south side of the Mall. The walk along the lake also leads straight to Buckingham Palace. You can also see the Horse Guard Parade Grounds as well if you take this approach.

“It's a nice walk!”
Reviewed May 13, 2014

I have shown my friends around London many a times but my favourite walk is form leicester square through covent garden then down to trafalgar square and along the mall to buckingham palace. Then you can walk back through st james's park to see horse guards and the big ben. Just make sure you visit the toilet before you leave covent garden, because you will need it (and believe my you do NOT want to queue in the toilet in mc d's on the southbank for 1 hour!)

You need to walk down here, gorgeous part of London and there is always something going on here. If you are not here long, this is one of the places you should go.

“Great walk”
Reviewed March 24, 2014

This is my favorite place in London.

It's the road that connects Trafalgar Square with Buckingham Palace. You can start on both ends and walk towards the other end.

If you are in London just for a few hour I suggest this is the place you should visit.

“The red carpet for the royals!”
Reviewed March 21, 2014 via mobile

Just think about the Royal Wedding and other events. This was the road full of people all going to see the royals at the balcony.

I have been to see the wedding and every time we walk near the Buckingham Palace we remember that wonderful day.

This is a must see when in London, but start from the archy, is great to see the palace growing in front of your eyes.
