Owner description: London is a vibrant, bustling metropolis and England’s capital city. London is the United Kingdom’s most popular tourist destination, with more than 16 million visitors taking in its rich variety of sights and sounds every year. Among the myriad attractions that draw people from all over the world are a number of streets that are steeped in historical significance for a number of reasons; among these is Shaftesbury Avenue in the city’s famed West End. Running for over a mile in a north-easterly direction from Piccadilly Circus to New Oxford Street, Shaftesbury Avenue takes in a number of the city’s more notable locales including Charing Cross Road and Cambridge Circus, and its length means that it straddles both the City of Westminster and the borough of Camden. Our website is your guide to Shaftesbury Avenue and London's West End. Find Hotels, Restaurants, Theatre shows, Attractions, Events and Things To Do in the heart of London.

“Theaters, Restaurants, buzzing street”
Reviewed July 31, 2014

You can access Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus, China Town and there is so many things to do. This is the heart of West End, its vibrant and is never boring. A chose of Theatres, Cinemas, Comedy Clubs, Night Clubs, book shops, and thousands of restaurants.

There are many side roads which leads to pubs and businesses. Great for the whole family in the day but at night more busy for the adults as age restriction for the clubs and bars.

“Quite a few theatre houses on Shaftesbury”
Reviewed July 26, 2014

Shaftesbury is a major road which crosses Westminster in a northeast-southwest direction, from Piccadilly Circus to New Oxford Street.

Here you will find coffee shops, restaurants, pubs and other commercial businesses alongside quite a few historic theatre houses. These include Queen's, Apollo, Gielgud, Palace, Curzon, Lyric and Shaftesbury theatre houses. At night, Shaftesbury, like much of the West End, looks nice with the theatre house signs lit up.

Shaftesbury also runs adjacent to Gerrard Street in London's Chinatown, hence the presence of many nearby Chinese shops and restaurants. Further to the northeast, you will find yourself just north of the Seven Dials and Neal's Yard, where you can find some nice shopping options.

“Relaxing street”
Reviewed July 11, 2014

There's something about all of the theatres and the book shops that make it quite a relaxing experience, no matter how busy it actually is, to walk down through here.
