As i was staying nearby and love aircraft thought it would be great to check this museum out and was very glad i did. Parking was cheap for 3 hours and the entry to the museum itself was free. Me and my girlfriend spent 3 hours or so walking around looking at planes from the beginning of aviation through to modern times. Was a great selection of second world war planes which is really my thing. The size of of the 25 foot plus bomb that went in the lancaster bomber was something to see. There was a lot for younger children to do there simulators, cinema all in all a great place to go to spend half a day or so.

Great day out for young and old. We were fortunate to have been on a midweek visit when things were a bit quieter. The presentation of the exhibits in the various sections was outstanding. Staff were always on hand to offer their help. Most impressed. From our initial visit we would suggest that this is a full day trip for there is so much to see. There is a cafe on sight but it has limited options. There is a restaurant on site but was not open on our visit. Overall, it is worth making the trip to Hendon. Being fussy, I would suggest more up to date and appealing sign posting on exiting the tube station. Do think the RAF should sell this museum more to the public for it is truly magnificent.

Recently took my 7 yr old here to fulfill a Beaver Scout badge. I have been many times before with my older boys but had managed to take him yet. I have always loved the space of this place which really sets of apart from other museums. Such great value too so we didn't mind having to exit through the shop. Their Battle of Britain experience is unique and such a great way to tell the story to kids. Great place for a family outing especially on rainy days.

For what is a free attraction, it's difficult to pick flaws with what is a frankly HUGE collection of mostly military aircraft within three different hangers. The information with each exhibit is detailed without being excessive. There could be two or three more viewing points in some of the hangers to get a better view from above the larger planes. Small car parking charge almost feels too cheap, make sure you leave a donation before you exit as this attraction being free is a great feature for the city.
