This hostel was excellent. The beds were comfortable, the rooms are spacious and the bathrooms and shower areas are all clean, tidy and fairly big. There are lockers with padlocks in each room so you need not worry about security. The staff are also excellent, and friendly. My only small concern is that I lost my house keys when I was there and sadly never got them back.
The common room and the kitchen are also great, and there is a real mix of people from all over which is great. It is also close to public transport and set in a really really beautiful part of London. I cant wait to go back - so I really recommend it!

The hostel is nice and clean and I would imagine most visitors have a fine stay, hence the rating given. However, the brand new bed bunks are only 6' long and I am 6'2" so I can't recommend the hostel for tall travellers.

Avoid rooms G1 and G2 as they are right next to reception so get every piece of foot traffic in the building, which can be heard through the paper thin walls. If this is all that is available consider going somewhere else, especially on Th-Sat.

An annoyance, but probably common is the requirement to buy a padlock. Likewise with towels. Why not make these available for a deposit?

Please note that this is a HOSTEL, rather than a HOTEL. You must expect to share your room and your toilet/shower with others. That said, I truly enjoy staying at this hostel. It is difficult to find affordable places to stay in London, and in my three trips there, I have always stayed at this hostel. The price is righ, the rooms are clean, the location is great, and the staff are friendly. If you arrive at Heathrow Airport, the Underground goes right to the Earls Court station, no need to change lines. From the station, the hostel is less than 10 minutes walk, straight down Earls Court Road to Bolton Gardens, left on Bolton Gardens for a short block. From Gatwick airport, you can take the Gatwick Express Train to Victoria station, switch to the Tube, and go about 4 stops to Earls Court Station. The area around the hostel has lots of places to eat, a great internet place (1 Pound for 1 hour of internet!!), a laundry, a post office, and grocery stores, banks, and pubs. There is a kitchen at the hostel, should you want to save a bit of money by cooking for yourself, and there are two lounges with televisions and internet (though it is cheaper to use the local internet place mentioned above). This hostel is my home in London!
