Brilliantly located for The Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace and about 20 minutes to theatre land! Very nicely furnished rooms with lots of little extra touches that you usually only get in hotels a lot more expensive. We booked 3 days before we were due to visit London and this hotel was cheaper than a Premier Lodge and they are far inferior to this hotel. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The 24 hour reception facility is really good and luggage storage facility was really useful. Will definitely use again. My only comment is that other reviewers implied this was a romantic hotel - would not necessarily agree. Depending on the location of your room there can be outside noise early in the morning. This did not worry us but could be an issue for some guests. But perfect for couples as long as you don't want a long lie in!

Room Tip: Rooms not on the street side may be quieter

We stopped in to have a drink and a break from walking around the sites. The pub is just a couple blocks away from Westminister Abbey & Big Ben. It's in an excellent location. We had juice and cookies for the kids which was perfect. Had a pint which tasted awful. In fairness to the staff they poured a new pint from a different lager which was fine. The atmosphere in the pub was good, lots of nice little corners to sit in.

we visited London after booking tickets to the theatre and needed a hotel although what looked like a fair walk it wasn't a lovely walk through the park and we were there.. 20mins..The hotel did not disappoint it was lovely although breakfast was not included it was not a problem.. Buckingham palace, Big Ben, parliament, the eye were all close by.. Would def add this to my favourites and def be using this as my main hotel when visiting! Staff were excellent and very helpful you don't realise your on top of a pub! Perfect

Great location by St James park, walking distance to Buckingham Palace , Westminster Abbey and The Houses of Parliament. St James Park tube station only a few yards away. A great welcome from friendly staff. Room quiet, clean, stylish and modern. Tea, coffee, biscuits, dressing gowns, Wi-Fi ...and at a very good price for central London. Above a pub which is run by the same company and where breakfast is served...we didn't have it so can't comment. We ate there in the evening...good, wheel cooked and presented food, again at a good price for central London.

Room Tip: We had one overlooking a central space....not pretty but very quiet. Street views would be prettier...

WE stayed overnite June 30 in a twin room facing the front, 3rd floor. This small hotel is 2 blocks form the Westminster tube station, 1 block past the Intercontinental. Hotel has an elevator and ac, both function well. Our standard twin room on the 4th floor facing front was quiet and comfortable , typically european small ,w/ free wi fi and digital tv. There is a nice pub on the downstairs level with excellent included hot and cold breakfeast. We probably should have had dinner there rather than the nearby/ 6 bl0cks/ pub recommended by Rick Steves guide. You are abut 4 blocks from St James Park and its swans and cool, as the Churchill War Rooms which should be seen. 10 Downing is in the same area but for security not approachable. You could walk to Trafalgar Sq in 10 minutes.

Hotel is served @ Westminster by the District & Circle lines with easy trip to Heathrow via change to the Picadilly Line at Victoria or Hammersmith (just walk across the platform) . If you need to reach Dover, as we did for for our Ocean Princes s cruise to Icleand+, you can take an C 131 bus a few blocks away to Victoria Coach Station and then with advance rez the National Coachbus for a 2 hr ride to Dover ferryport, then 8L taxi to the cruise port.

Room Tip: Standard twin room on a weekend is a good value. Later in the week the room was 40% more. Book with...

Biggish pub on the corner of Tothill Street serving Fullers beers. Staff friendly and efficient enough, sometimes appearing to be giving too much effort but you are made to feel welcome. Sports on the TV if required. Mixed bag of clientele from the ordinary London locals, tourists and the suited office brigade too. 7/10

My wife and I had a fantastic stay at the Santuary hotel for five nights at the beginning of July. I have absolutely no complaints what so ever, the staff were very efficient and friendly, the hotel was spotless and the food very good. We opted for a full english breakfast that was great value for money considering London price's. The area is just perfect because it is very quite later on in the evening and I would recomend it to anyone planning a trip to London. Also just a couple of minutes from St James underground.

Room Tip: I think the top floor rooms will be quiter away from the pub
