This was our first time staying in London and we were delighted with all aspects of the hotel; the location was perfect- within walking distances of major tourist attractions; the room was spacious, comfortable and extremely clean as was the bathroom which had an excellent shower; the staff were very friendly and helpful; the continental breakfast offered a good selection and was well stocked at all times; the food in the pub was amazing and really good value. The famous pies are well worth a try! The real ales and wine were also very good! All British meats and sustainable fish are offered on the menu which exemplifies the quality of the produce used. Overall, a really enjoyable and pleasant stay. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone.

This hotel in Westminster was incredible! So close to major attractions! We walked to Westminster Abbey, Churchill War Rooms, Trafalgar Square in one direction and through St. James Park to Buckingham Palace and the Royal Mews in the other. Perfect location! Pub downstairs serves good food and beer. Staff is very helpful. We booked the lowest price room yet were not disappointed. It was impeccably clean and beds were so comfortable. Our room (208) faced the side street and we were not at all bothered by street noise or creaky floors. Lots of other pubs nearby as well. This one is a real find!

Room Tip: If you don't mind twin beds, room 208 is quiet and comfortable.

We stayed at the Sanctuary House Hotel for four nights while in London. It was very reasonably priced for its great location near St. James Park and Buckingham Palace. The hotel has a historic feel to it, so if you are looking for a modern hotel, this would not suit you. The floors were a little creaky, but we never had trouble sleeping because of noise in the hallways or on the street. Our room was just a regular room, but it was adequate and we enjoyed the tea and biscuits left in the room each day, as well as the free wifi. We ate a couple of dinners in Fullers Pub downstairs and they were very good. The breakfast was okay, but nothing to write home about. The staff at the hotel and pub were very welcoming. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

This is our second stay here and we'll be staying again with friends in a few weeks. Great location, helpful friendly staff who were really accommodating. My wife was running in the BUPA 10K and they very kindly allowed us to leave our luggage and for my wife to have a shower and change after the run even though it was after their stipulated check-out time. Comfortable spacious rooms, really good value for central London and the food both in the evening and breakfast was good. Can't wait to stay again!

One of the most helpful and friendly staffs I have ever encountered. No request is a bother. The location is 1/2 a block from the St. James Park tube station and 1/2 block from Westminster Abbey in the other direction. It is very easy to walk to many of the top London sights. A very convenient location in central London.
Our Deluxe double room was good sized and well appointed. The only caution we would give to someone with a room facing Tothill Street is to have a white noise machine handy. The windows are not double glazed, and the rooms can get noisey from the passing street traffic. Otherwise a perfect stay at a good price for a central London hotel.
I would like to add a special mention for the wonderful service and delicious food at Fuller's Pub on the ground floor. Try their hamburger -- one of the best I've ever had.

We stayed at Sanctuary House Hotel on our way to Scotland. As it was just for one night, we booked a standard room, but because we were returning guests, we were given an upgrade to a deluxe which was much appreciated. The service was as always excellent, the staff very friendly and helpful, the room spotless, and the breakfast lovely. I would always recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in this area of London.

The ratings are right. There are too many hotels in London that are too pricey for what they have to offer. The Sanctuary House is the best place I have stayed in London. Location, friendly staff and nice rooms. We had our breakfasts at St James Sanwichbar in the little street across from the hotel, really good value.
