“Great location, classic English style”

4 nights at Sanctuary House and we really enjoyed it, had big expectations after the website and weren't disappointed. Sensational location only 1min or so from St James Park tube station and 30secs the other way to Westminster Abbey. 2 min to St James Park.Very clean comfortable good room size. The Intercontinental Hotel was being constructed immediately beside when were there in August so some early work starts but no problems. Classic looking English Pub with the restaurant downstairs which was good, also serves as the breakfast room - good breakfast. Not much around the immediate area for restaurants but never too far from much in London?

Room Tip: We were on the corner on the first floor and overlooked the pub sign and window boxes which had a g...

We have just spent four nights at the Sanctuary House Hotel, and had a lovely time. This is our second visit to the hotel so we knew it would be good.
The hotel is in a great location 2mins from St james Park, 10 mins from Buckingham palace and 10 mins from Westminster Bridge, we tend to walk every where, you cannot see London from a tube, so this hotel is an ideal base.
Since our last visit the hotel has had some refurbishment and the rooms are now modern and very confortable. The rooms do overlook the a busy road so expect some traffic noise but it tends to be quite through the night.
The pub downstairs is excellent and the food is very nice, this is were you have your breakfast we opted for the continental which was plentiful and very good.
The only gripe we had was the building works next door, which unfortunatley did annoy us especially in the mornings,we were in room 102, then moved to 407, but the staff and Sol the general manager handled our complaint professionally. The hotel sadly has no control over how other companies behave, and are trying their best to help customers who have a problem with this issue. The staff on reception and in the bar were always very helpfull and pollite.
We would definitley reccomend this hotel to any one, as great base for a visit to London.
We would definitely return to Sanctuary House

It's near Westminster and is in a walking distance to Buckingham Palace and Tate Britain. We stayed in room 101, easy to come and go but a little noisy from 7:00am.
The room is small but good cost benefit.
I would certainly come again.

We have stayed at this Hotel previously as it is close to all the attractions we want to visit. We have recently stayed again and it has been re-furbished since our last stay and did not disappoint.

We had breakfast and dinner in the Pub which on all occasions was really good and the staff were really lovely throughout our stay.

Our only issue was that the toilet did keep blocking which was not ideal ...

I would recommend this hotel to anyone who does want to explor the Westminster and Thames area.

We were impressed once again with this hotel ...

Room Tip: This is in a very active area of London so be prepared for noise ...

This is my third stay at The Sanctuary House Hotel. The position is great as you are five minutes from the Thames, Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace, with the tube only two minutes away to take you anywhere easily.
I have always found the staff friendly, the food in the Pub on the ground floor is great. The rooms have recently been updated, although they were OK before and are a comfortable size.
I will be returning next year.

My wife and I stayed here for a week. 10 minute walk to Westminster Abbey, 5 minute walk to St. James Park metro starion; this hotel is ideally situated in London. Our room overlooked some construction next door, but I was not in London to sit in my hotel room and stare out the window. The food in the pub downstairs was above average for "pub grub". Our room was always neat and tidy when the housekeeper was finished. The staff was always willing to assist in any way from giving directions for sightseeing to giving advise about various pubs or resturaunts. Our room was large for London and a real good value. The T.V. had a few limited channels, but then again I was not in London to stay in my room and watch T.V. The free WiFi was reliable and consistent

Have tried to stay here a number of times, but always fully booked. Now I know why. This is a really nice, friendly hotel. I found the room to be really modern and well equipped with good quality fixtures and fittings.

The whole place is spotlessly clean and the breakfast was good and plentiful. The location is excellent and almost next door to St James Park tube.

Overall I think The Sanctuary House provides excellent value for money and will certainly be using again.

Room Tip: Maybe ask for a room off the main street.
