Reviewed March 7, 2013

We had a wonderful stay here! Great hotel with very friendly front desk staff, very comfortable bed , lovely neighborhood and delicious full breakfast included. We could walk to Victoria station in a leisurely 10 min to catch the Gatwick Express to the airport, very convenient.

+++ Peaceful and beautiful high-end area and what an ideal base for exploring London (flights via Gatwick) by using buses/tube/train of Victoria station. B&B lies one of those attractive Georgian buildings and is full of characture! Staff is kind and room cleaning did an exellent job. We loved also to walk through those streets... to Buckingham Palace, Harrods, Kings Road, Hyde Park, Westminster.. Area is full of charming shops, cafes, restaurants, stylish buildings!

- For the price we paid would prefer bathroom to be more functional (facilities, space and working sanitation) and breakfast was a bit monotonous with a little tense feeling.. But if in need of alternation, theres plenty of places around - we got the best breakfast smoothies ever from Eccleston Street at Crussh (Fit Food and Juice)!

A return visit just before Christmas confirmed our view that this is a very good base for a stay in London. It is well located on a lovely little street corner precinct in Belgravia and very close to Victoria station (although we much preferred the 10 minute walk to Sloane Square). It is more of a b&b than a hotel but owners/staff are nice, breakfasts fine and rooms clean and comfortable. We have stayed in lots of places both grand and basic in London and think this place srikes just the right balance. We have booked another stay.

Room Tip: Ok it's not a hotel - no bar, no room service but there are pubs nearby and just down Ebury St i...

I came across this hotel when l passed it one day looked up the website very impressive budget but modern and the reviews were fabulous so next visit l booked it.
Booked over the phone not convinced l even made a booking several calls to receive email confirmation.
We arrived very impressed from the outside but a shock on entering to how dated it was, we were too early for check in but l needed the toilet so l was shown to a freezing toilet room very dated and not too clean l came out to see a wall of a curtain trying to hide all the old furniture against an unused front door.
We returned to check in to a receptionist with no uniform and not much hotel training because l discovered its a BB no bar, no light food the breakfast was orange juice t, coffee and full breakfast only and l have had better in little chef no continental. The room was £175 in nov and too be honest l can't believe places still survive like this, looks like no investment been made for a long time. Our shower was cold at 10pm in the evening when l mentioned this on check out he told me hot water would be turned off at this time even the sink in the bedroom, so not en-suite. The windows were shot the wind was sucking in the cheap thin curtains and one of the twin beds was up against the radiator (dangerous) if it was a child. The BB l was expecting budget this doesn't mean the owners can just paint over cracks our front door had been given several new locks which all just been painted over pipes just pocking out of walls. Staircases were very dirty. Bedding very cheap and furnishing our hair dryer didn't work. When l checked out he said £175 please l asked for a receipt which took a time will he processed my booking and still no details on it when l got home. Basically BB like this make you want to stay in large budget chains because you don't feel ripped off. the lime tree charging on location overall a very disappointed, stayed in sloan square hotel previous to this for the same price excellent.

Going to keep this review to the point....
What a nice place. Fantastic location for work or tourists.
I was late in and came out of the Victoria Underground Station really needing some food. Nipped into the 'Buckingham Balti House', what a find.
Checked in, and being a small hotel very quick.
I was offered the WIFI code, and not sold it - how novel !
Had a single room, which to be honest was compact. But it was spotless and comfy and the telly had a clear picture and a working remote - none of these are 'given' in my experience.
Tea and coffee making in the room - plenty tea, coffee and milk, again unusual.
Hairdryer in the room, of no use to me at all, but surely beneficial for others…
Breakfast was great. Usual choice of cereal / cooked breakfast.
Does not appear to be licenced or doing evening meals, but for such a posh area of London I was amazed at how many reasonably priced pubs and restaurants were less than a couple of minutes away, and the wine bar / pub right next door was serving food until after 10 pm.
Much prefer this kind of place to most of the larger chains.
Staff were very nice, and everyone else staying there seemed perfectly happy, what else can you say? – If you want to stay at the Ritz it’s about a mile away, just dig a bit deeper into your pocket !

PS No lifts

My wife and I had a great stay at the Lime Tree Hotel during the Olympics this past summer. We were allocated a room at the top floor (no elevator but wasn't a problem for us). When we arrived our luggage was stored for the day as our room was not ready. Upon our return to the hotel on our first day our bags were waiting for us in our room.

The front desk staff was very friendly and willing to help with anything. We were there for the first few days of the Olympics so they were wanting to hear our experiences so they could pass on to future guests. The owner was almost always there and was genuinely interested in the experience of his guests.

The room was nicely sized for central London and the bathroom was well equipped. We had a nice view of the courtyard below. No AC but they do provide a fan and the window provided enough breeze to keep it cool at night.

Breakfast was served in the lobby area and the breakfast staff was very nice and always friendly and willing to help with directions, ideas etc. Breakfast was excellent.

The Lime Tree Hotel is within very easy walking distance to Victoria Station (train and tube) (less than 5 minutes). Also right next door to the Victoria Bus station with quick bus service to Heathrow. Additionally, very close to Sloane Square tube station (10 minutes).

A little further (10-20 minutes) to Buckingham Palace/Green & St James Parks, Hyde Park, and Westminster.

In the immediate vicinity there are a few good restaurants/pubs/fish & chips stalls. Otherwise the neighborhood is mostly residential/B&B with and very nice to walk through.

We had a great time and would definitely stay at the Lime Tree Hotel when back in London.
