Went to a free recital at St James in Piccadilly. Rebecca Moon gave a sumptuous rendition of Schumann's Frauenliebe in this pretty little church with excellent acoustics. Her gifted accompanist Johan Hugosson, then played a rousing Chopin Scherzo, followed by his own compositions, the romantic Gare du Nord and the spectacular Tango Cataclismo. Rebecca closed the performance with a beautiful premier of Hugosson's A Kiss, set to a poem by Thomas Hardy. Both artists were outstanding. A charming hour spent in central London.
