My wife is a gardener and loves flowers and plants. Our trip to London coincided with the 100th annual RHS Chelsea Flower Show, so we ordered tickets, a little pricey at 55GBP each, but it is a world class event. The show is huge and well-organized, there are ample places to have lunch or a snack, as well as rest rooms, etc.

A really lovely day out, if you go prepared. It is crowded, and places to sit down are hard to find - so consider taking a light seat or a mat or rug to sit on. Food is expensive and there are queues so consider taking a picnic, or maybe add to your day out and book yourself in for a lovely lunch or afternoon tea. There were dauntingly long queues for the ladies' toilets, but surprisingly the queues moved very quickly so that was ok. The queue for the flower arrangements (about 20 minutes) was well worthwhile. The show catalogue, which you need to get a map of the Show, cost £10!! You could just find your own way round, there are signposts. I am glad we went, but we won't be going back as we have the Harrogate Flower Show in Yorkshire which is just as nice. (Beware, small children and babies are not allowed in)

Excellent experience for any wannabe gardener....a dearth of ideas and expertise. Amazing planting schemes .....mainly for small gardens ........and an excellent idea to have seed mixtures ready packed that replicate the gardens on show.
Wonderful location, easy access by tube
Definitely needs a couple of days in the grounds for the whole experience to sink in.

Sorry about the title couldn't resist it.

This institution was celebrating it's 100th anniversary, & what a place it is if you appreciate all things horticultural.
Stunning show gardens, brilliant flower displays, the magnificent shows in the Great Pavillion, all set in Chelsea by the Thames. Add sunny weather and Pimms, and what more can you ask for?

A London legend lives on...

We loved everything about the flower show, WONDERFUL.
Interesting to see the BBC TV filming there for the tv shows and seeing the show gardens we had seen on the tv just days before.
