Booked for my birthday based on tripadvisor and professional critics reviews and our visit really surpassed expectations. Like their approach with a fixed price menu. For started , mains and deserts there were many options I was tempted by. Crab ravioli to start was really delicious, main of pork cheek was equally well balanced and executed. Desert was sublime, lemon curd ice cream with blackcurrant sauce. Staff were exceptionally attentive and very helpful. Restaurant decor was restrained and tasteful. Will definitely return.

Around my 4th visit over the last couple of years and the whole experience consistently good. The best thing about coming here is the exciting, different menu. The wine list and atmosphere, comfort and staff all excellent. We were a group of six and had a great table with loads of space and were never hurried even though we were last to leave restaurant. It was expensive but we were here for a birthday and it was well worth the cost to have a fabulous evening.

A friend had recommended this French boutique restaurant on the Kings Road.

The atmosphere is cosy and quaint with an eclectic collection of art and colours on the wall.

Tables are French bistro in style and the team are warm, friendly with a cross-section of French employees.

The menu had an array of exciting choices and the descriptions were very accurate but also perfect in the surprise that each course brought in terms of the flavours and the perfection of the cooking.

Although we had every course and dessert which is unusual, we were not overly full but we were very impressed by the quality of the kitchen and the delightful flavours.

We would certainly return.

I have eaten here twice in the past month
On both occasions the food has been top-notch. Beautiful quality and precision cooking of classic cuisine. Prices are completely reasonable (ie cheap) for food of this standard.
But the restaurant is not "stiff"- the staff are excellent and the ambience is relaxed. This is now one of my favourite restaurants in London.
If you want outstanding French food in London - and why would you not? - this is the place to come.

My husband and I have eaten at Medlar 5 times and it never fails to impress on all levels. We love eating good food in great restaurants but always seem to compare them to Medlar! The food is exquisite and beautifully presented (I should have taken some photos), it changes seasonally and the different flavours and textures are matched perfectly.

The service is excellent. Staff are warm and friendly, giving just the right amount of attention without becoming intrusive.

In a nutshell, we enjoy our visits to Medlar so much and heartily recommend it to everyone we know!
