We go to Al Forno at least once a fortnight, and it is an absolute favourite of mine.
The food is simple, delicious, fresh, and (my favourite part) ridiculously cheap (I seriously don't know how they can manage it so cheaply ... but I'm not complaining). On various visits I have tried the pizza, pasta, risotto, bruschetta and pizza bread, and every time it has been great. The food is always quick and hot, and the service great - not once have I felt hurried, and almost all the staff seem to be genuinely Italian, which is alwaysa good sign.
It's not a flash place, and you can expect to find a spelling mistake or two on the menu (though not so much anymore as they've recently upgraded their menu), but it's an awesome spot to sit outside and have a casual, restaurant quality meal, while paying fast food prices. And I mean that - on the weekend my husband and I shared a pizza bread to starter (so yum!) then I had a pasta while my husband had a pizza, and the total cost (including a couple of drinks) was £17.
A tip - the address listed is slightly misleading, as the actual restaurant is on Shepherd's Bush Green, so don't be confused if you can't find Romney Court. You'll find Al Forno close to the BP service station, and right next to a men's hairdressers.
