“Decent accomodations and excellent location”

We enjoyed our stay here, the front desk staff was exceptionally friendly giving tips and advice. Thanks Dimitri, Mohammed and Medi! Just wait until no one is around and then start asking questions. They even allowed us to view an alternate room, allowing us to choose between two rooms when we arrived. The room was ready promptly--we chose the basement room 8. The daily free continental breakfast was adequate. The breakfast/housecleaning staff was always on top of things--everything was clean.

The best thing about this hotel is the location. Also it was close to the Portobello Market, and there was a Barclay's cycle hire stand steps away from the hotel entrance. There is also a nice terrace accessible from the basement--a good place to hang out without leaving the hotel.

The negatives are that the rooms were not air conditioned and got stuffy after our showers and the bed was not that comfortable (although we slept fine). The rooms were small, but served our needs.

Room Tip: Room 8 has a king size bed and a bathtub. It does get stuffy, but there is a screenless ground-floo...

We stayed at this hotel as we were there for a wedding nearby. I can't say we loved it but it wasn't too bad either. Rooms are quite small but quaint howeve,r lurking on a bit "coldly" styled, the bathrooms were also very small, but they had a lovely design. The staff were pleasant and breakfast was simple. We wouldn't stay again.

A comfortable hotel in a very convenient location. The room and bathroom were very small but very clean. The staff were polite but not overly engaging. Continental breakfast was included and fresh fruit was amongst the offer each day.

My husband and i stayed here for a week in October 2012 our room was on the top floor it was small but for London standards it was good. The room was clean and the bathroom looked like it had recently been renovated so everything was new and fresh. The door opened up directly opposite the elevator so on a few occasions there where some noisy guests but nothing extreme.
The breakfast was basic same buffet breakfast you get anywhere really. The thing I enjoyed most of all where the absolutely awesome staff, they where so helpful and friendly, no matter what time of the day or night and it didn't matter who I spoke to they all made you feel welcome and comfortable.
The location is perfect for getting around as there are a choice if 2 tube stations AAAA+++++

Returned to London to celebrate our 25th anniversary. Wanted something special and were not disappointed! Mentioned our special occasion to the manager and he upgraded our room to the top. Beautiful antique 4 poster bed with luxurious, regal decor, huge whirlpool bathtub with fancy lighting and twinkly little blue lights in the ceiling. Step outside to our own private balcony with table and chairs for relaxing. Loved location- Kensington Gardens just down the road, fabulous array of international restaurants (opened late and reasonably priced), great little Hill Cafe and local pub just steps away. Also just a short walk to the Portobello Market. This hotel stay made our visit to London go from great to stellar! Thanks Mohammed!

Really hard to satisfy in really warm weather when yopu don't have air conditioning. Fans only provided in one room although when asked on check out about improvements we were told they should have been in all.
Downstairs room was compact with no view and noisy when building works next door started early. Other two rooms on ground floor were good size but no shower curtain in one caused bathroom to be very wet when shower used.
All TVs required adjusting with varying degrees of reception
Breakfast was OK and included in rates.
Staff were very welcoming and accommodating with all requests but in summary you get what you pay for and this was a budget hotel with some premium touches but not consistent enough to get anything more than average rating.

Room Tip: Not in basement or ground floor

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel in July 2013. Perfect location close to the tube and Kensington gardens. The rooms were small which was to be expected but they are very clean and modern. Staff were quite helpful in ordering taxis and confirming bookings etc. would definitely go back.
