Loved the "Sherlock" & Old Specked Hen. Great service, friendly staff, good atmosphere. What more could you ask for?!

We used this pub to meet at ahead of a dinner booking. The bar area is busy and we noted that there seemed to be waves of very busy that came and went.

They serve a Sherlock ale which was a pleasant easy pint to drink and well worth a try if you are in there. The taff were friendly the tables were hard to get at. We were there between 1739 and 1930 and at no point was there much let up on people coming and going.

I saw one couple eating some fish and chips, which looked to be enjoyed as much as it was cooked well.

A great place to meet and easy to find. I just wonder why not on baker street.

We visited this pub on a Saturday night, fortunately we went early enough to beat the dinner crowd since we had theater tickets. The upstairs restaurant is very small so if you have large parties on short notice it could be tricky. I heard them say they accept reservations so that may be a way to get around it, especially since they were turning people away to keep their reserved table open for impending guests. The food was pretty good, definitely better quality than some of the crappy chain joints spread out all over the city. Overall, my husband and I had a great time and would recommend this pub to anyone. Just remember to call ahead if you can if you plan on going during peak times.

We walked in and asked if they could accommodate our small party. Less than 10 in total. our youngest member was 16. they told us no. when we asked where we could find another place to eat we were told MCDONALDS!!!!!!

I would NEVER recommend this place.

An excellent pub with friendly staff and great food. Try the fish and chips (we loathe fish and chips). A real tribute to the greatest detective to ever walk this earth. And they constantly show Holmes programmes especially the Jeremy Brett and Basil Rathbone versions.
