The Victoriana exhibition was a superb find! I had not visited this gallery before, but will definitely keep an eye on its future exhibitions if I'm traveling to London.

There were some really cool pieces of art presented at the Victoriana, I would strongly recommend you visit, if you're into steampunk and such. Spend some time looking at the incredible piece of work that includes a lot of flies.

The Roman part of the museum complex we didn't have time to see properly, but it seemed like it would also be worth a look.

No one we knew seemed to have heard of this exhibition or, indeed, of the gallery so it was a doubly joyful experience. On a Saturday, the area is so quiet - but unfortunately the crowds in central London and on the underground meant that we only had 40 minutes at the exhibition and we would have liked a great deal longer. My favourite exhibits? Where to begin? The neo-Victorian alphabet, the cake made of hair, Grayson Perry, the videos, Rob Ryan, the foxes...... Sonia Solicari did an amazing job. What person would not give their eye teeth to work there and be around all these amazing artworks? The guy at the desk - that's who! I can't remember ever coming across anyone who was so relentlessly rude, sulky and unenthusiastic about his job. It didn't spoil it for us - the place and the exhibition were sublime but there was no excuse for his beligerent behaviour. Please don't be put off by this, though, it's a wonderful and unforgettable show. If you can buy the book (if he'll let you!) you will be able to re-live the memories and learn even more.

As lovers of historical London, we visited the Guildhall, a centre for local government for centuries, with a fantastic art gallery packed with works of art, an underground archaeological site showing the original Roman Colliseum discovered during recent renovations and a magnificent banquet hall with sculptures of notable figures, and of course the famous Gog and Magog statues. Truly a great find, located in the Ludgate area, plenty of cafes, shops, and easily reached on the bus.

This gallery is located in the city of London, near St Paul's & the museum of London. The building and square where it is located is in itself, of great architectural interest- the Guildhall, and another 2 churches are located in this same square. It was quiet while we were there, the building is beautiful both on the inside & out, the exhibition is quite small, has a few works of art that are of interest, some sculpture-the head of a young Prince Charles, Margaret Thatcher, Florence Nightingale, with very friendly staff; a small modern section and portrait gallery are both located on the lower ground floor. The remains of the Roman wall in the basement is, to my mind, the big highlight, the wall is located in the exact place where it was found, of huge historical significance, it is not to be missed. The gallery is free to enter, as are most national galleries and museums in London-go for a quick look if you are in the area of the old city, it can be all seen in about half an hour.

The Victoriana exhibition is amazing! Whether you have interest in Victorian era of empire, exploration, industrial expansion, and socio-economic change, come and have a look on Saturday 7th September and Sunday 8th September. You will see the Victorian era in modern version. I've never seen anything so wisely creative and imaginative.
