We had to visit this very famous building when checking out the sights in London. My son is a huge fan. The buildings have been on many programs including I believe the Sharpe series. The museum is small and expensive ( 15 pounds for two adults and one thirteen year old) for what you see but my son loved it. Beautiful costumes and a golden eagle ( unfortunately a copy). He had a chance to put on some breast plates and hats which was fun. We enjoyed this very much. When you enter the front you see two soldiers on their horses which is a major photo opportunity. The horses did not seem to mind having people stand next to them having their photos taken. As you walk through there were several other soldiers on guard in their full costumes. This is all free of charge. You only have to pay if you go through the museum.

The buildings are just near this beautiful park with a large pond and lots of ducks where you can have a great lunch ice cream or catch a few rays on the grass. Lovely afternoon.

A nice building to walk around as you walk along the edge of St. James park or down Whitehall. If your lucky enough you may get to see the parade as well.

We paid to the museum based on what we read on here. It is very small, 2 rooms basically. It was a lot of uniform displays and very little about the day to day functioning of the household cavalry. I recommend you skip it. The building is pretty and the changing of the guards is free, those are enough.

We came here not long after the Olympics had ended - how different it looked once the beach volleyball arena had been dismantled. It is a magnificent building reminiscent of times past.

This is a fine site, with an interesting history. If you do Sandeman's New Europe Free Walking Tour, you get see it and learn about it!
