Winston Churchill's head is reported to be heated to keep the pigeons off!! I don't know why a Nelson Mandella statue is there tho.
Horseguards parade which is not far will be home to the beach volleyball during the Olympics

Beautiful building outside; however, inside wasn't impressive enough to match the outside

Access to Parliament Square has been fenced off for several years now. If you could get in it would be great as there are statues of of the greats from around the Commonwealth - plus superb views of the Houses of Parliament... but you can't get in at the moment, so wasted.
