Owner description: Opened in 1871, the Royal Albert Hall is the world’s most famous stage. It is also one of London’s most iconic and visited tourist attractions. Over the years, it has been the scene of over 150,000 performances; from Wagner to Sinatra, The Beatles to Beyonce, Muhammad Ali to Adele, and is home to the celebrated BBC Proms. Whilst the venue is most famous for its shows by night, by day this treasured building is open for coffee, lunch, afternoon tea and guided tours of the building. Tip for tour ticket holders: Enjoy a 10% discount on items in the Hall’s gift shop and Cafe Bar.

I've seen Cirque de Soleil, Romeo and Juliet in the round, Carmina Burana, various orchestral concerts and a memorable full day there once during the Proms season listening to choirs. It's an old building and you'll be well advised to choose your seat according to what you're there for. Beware seats with restricted views. Be careful of the stalls too. You can't guarantee a short person will sit in front of you. Shared boxes can be a disaster: especially if the other lot turn up with a picnic theatre supper which includes cooked and steaming food and rather too much alcohol. But these are the exceptions. Most of the time you're in for a great evening. The acoustics are good now of course: they have been for many a year now.

Especially try to go here during the summer months (proms). Avoid high up tickets as acoustic is here not very good. Impressive to have seen a concert in.

The Royal Albert Hall is my favourite concert venue in London and I have been there for both Proms and general concerts.

Last time we went it was for the Fantasia in Concert which was great.

I love this place as it is the great mix of history and modern and it's perfect for any pocket. I usually make my choice on where I am sitting depending on the type of concert I'm attending and have sat more or less in any part of the Hall.

I look forward to my next trip in March to see Singin' in the Rain in concert.

The Royal Albert Hall is an absolutely amazing performance space. It has history, acoustics and views to ensure enjoyment during any kind of a show.
I personally love the Circle seating (high up) as they provide a spectacular and unobstructed view, however it's not for a faint hearted.

Expect:
1) queues at intervals for the loos and refreshments.
2) world class performances
3) polite, rules-obeying staff
4) limited step-free access

Parking
The surrounding residential streets are very congested. The parking restrictions apply Mon-Sat till 6:30pm.
Limited parking spaces can be purchased directly from The Royal Albert Hall.

Public Transport
There are a number of bus routes directly outside the Hall and two Tube stations within walking distance.

A spectacular place to experience arts.
