“Feels like you're in the countryside”
Reviewed May 21, 2013

Hampstead Heath is a magnificent park & covers 790 acres so there is plenty of space for everyone. There are over 25 ponds on the Heath, some are purely wildlife ponds but others are designated for swimmimg.

For great views of the London skyline go to Parliament Hill which is 322ft. high. From this hill you can view the skyscrapers of Canary Wharf & the City of London.

The Heath is a fantastic area for dog walking as there is so much open space away from any roads. If you want a really peaceful time away from noise & traffic this is the place to go.

“Gem of North London”
Reviewed May 20, 2013

Since living beyond the Thames in South, I was not familiar with the north until friends took me there. It was a surprisingly charming public place. Mindful that there are open water swimming ponds and one for women and the other for men. I was curious to take a peek inside and people there seemed to have a different set of minds for being there.

“Favourite green spot in London”
Reviewed May 15, 2013

There is a lovely view of the whole of London from the top of Parliament Hill, and it doesn't cost a penny, as opposed to the Shard.

If you have kids, the Parliament Hill side of the heath has a very large children's playground with paddling pool open in the summer.

Descend the hill towards the Hampstead side and there is a very nicely decorated gastropub on Downshire Hill called The Freemasons Arms.

Kenwood House, towards the Hampstead Garden Suburb side of the heath also has a restaurant and plenty of tables with parasols outside. It's always very busy, and a bit like Crufts with the multitude of dog walkers there.

“Delightful”
Reviewed May 12, 2013

My local friend took me to this park while i was in London and it ended up being the only park i ended up visiting.
Lots of green areas, and lots of dogs being walked/playing. Got a sense that this was a park where perhaps more locals are seen than tourists.
Sit by one of the swimming ponds and enjoy the sunshine (if there is any). Pretty place.
