This and other hands on games are at the heart of this museum to the creation of the bank of England and the invention of paper money. Find out how the constant evolution of technology is used to combat the efforts of counterfeiters.

Amazing museum, lots to see and a short film to watch. Allow at least 2 hours. Free to go in and security check on entrance.

Worth a visit for sure, really in depth with its information on the basics of the Bank of England. Free entry and good exhibits. You have to leave your wet brolly at reception for obvious reasons you will be required to empty pockets ect and go through an Airport Style Security Check but in Fairness this Exhibit will take around 2 hours to complete. Like I say worth the visit.

Stumbled across this during a google search and decided to go. Maybe not for children, but we enjoyed it and learnt something from it. So glad we went. And it’s free! Well worth a visit :)

Wished we had taken a bit more time for our visit, but ran out of time. Closes at 17h00. Although relatively small the museum is well laid out and displays a very interesting history of the Bank and illustrated explanations of its duties and responsibilities. Well worth an hour to an hour and a half.

The first thing you encounter is a lot more security than you would at a normal museum.

I found it interesting, but because it is a little small I would only visit it if I was in that general area. You can try to pick up some real gold and find out how heavy it really is. If you are ever going to rob a bank go for paper money rather than the gold.

This is a very interesting museum located within the Bank of England. The architecture is worth seeing in itself. You learn about the history and role of the Bank, the notes it issues, the gold reserves.....and yes you can hold a real gold bar. This is one of the best attractions in the City of London. I was only in for a short time but you can easily spend an hour here.

I know what you're thinking, why go to a bank? They have a real gold bar that you can pick up to see how heavy it is. A real gold bar is incredibly heavy, I was shocked. I picked it up about 10 times - I mean how many times will you ever get to touch a gold bar let alone pick one up?
