Owner description: Admission to the Cathedral is free but donations are gratefully received Tower Lift - £6 adult; £3 concession; £14 family ticket (2 adult and 2 children) If you enter the Cathedral at a quiet moment in the day, don’t imagine that it is always like this. Westminster Cathedral must be one of the busiest churches in the United Kingdom. Located in the heart of London, it is the mother-church of England & Wales. People are drawn to this great edifice from all over London, all over the country and the world. If you are trying to imagine ‘what goes on’ here, consider that there are seven masses each day, many great services of worship on special occasions and unique gatherings of every description which fill the Cathedral to the doors. Westminster Cathedral Choir, justly renowned for consistent excellence, sings at the Solemn Mass each evening - with few exceptions. Even when no public ceremony is taking place, the private prayer of individual believers is a work of faith, continuously in progress. The Cathedral is a sacred space at the heart of a great city, dedicated to the worship of God.

“Beautiful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2013

I love visiting here, my husband first told me about it as I had admired the building from outside for many years but not realised it was a Cathedral. The interior is stunning and very peaceful.
It is well worth going up to the tower as the views are incredible.
I have since taken my mum who also loves it.

“Beautiful church and amazing view of London”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 17, 2013

This lovely cathedral located just blocks from Victoria Station is a quiet place to settle for awhile outside of London's hectic pace. It is the largest Catholic cathedral in England, but not to be confused with Westminster Abbey, which is a part of the Church of England, and located about a half mile away. The main church is rimmed with small beautiful chapels. Photography is allowed inside, unless a mass is being conducted. Touring the cathedral is free(donations) are accepted, a small cafe located in the basement sells light meals, and a gift shop is also available. For £5 (paid in the gift shop), you can take the lift up 7 stories into the tower and observe the city of London vista - well worth the charge.
