London is very big and cool. The shycrapers are very large and majestic and the city is beautiful and it's sad because big ben in constructions.

The tower is leaning and they are trying to work on it. It was completely covered by scaffolding accept for the face.

Pretty much covered up, as is a large area of the Houses of Parliament. Iconic landmarks that currently hold no value in your picture album.

We were not able to see Big Ben but saw plenty of scaffolding. They are doing a major restoration of the London icon. I hope it will be back to it's historic glory soon.

The Houses of Parliament and the Elizabeth Tower, popularly know as Big Ben are part of the iconic London skyline. Trips around the buildings are available and guided by trained guides.
Unfortunately the Tower and some of the clock faces are under wraps while restoration work is carried out. This will continue till 2020.

I live here and go to this area a lot, if you come "to see Big Ben" you will be disappointed, it has been covered in heavy cladding last few years. However go around the Houses of Parliament, try to book a tour inside. Wander around the square and statues facing the Parliamrnt to the right of Westminster Abbey. If you are there circa 5pm, pop in to evensong service in Westminster Abbey, with boys choir singing. Nearby is the wonderful complex of the Royal Horseguards, if it's not raining even the grounds themselves are worth a visit. From there put in Pall Mall and it's a lovely walk from the Royal Horse guards complex and view to the city and the Thames.

Sadly not much to see at the moment as Big Ben is under wraps for renovations and a serious makeover which will probably take a great deal of time . Not unlike the renovation of the Prince Albert memorial in Hyde Park which took many decades .

I was looking for the Big Ben Clock and to my disappointment that it is currently covered with scaffoldings and being renovated to preserve its history. on the brighter side it gave me an idea of how big the Big Ben clock is and its very close to the London Eye and the Westminster Abbey. I believe it won't be done til 2020?

Currently covered in scaffolding but it was still worth stopping by. My first time. Will return when the work has been done.
