Owner description: Most of this iconic building was built in the mid-19th century following a devastating fire in 1834. Westminster Hall survived the fire and dates from 1097. Visitors can book tours through the House of Commons and the House of Lords, and are welcome to watch debates and committees when the Houses are sitting..

Very interesting insights on British government. I was able to be with a tour group to see both the Houses of Lords and Commons, as well as getting a view of the Queen's robing room and the Royal Galleries. What a sight to see! I spent most of the tour with my jaw to the floor!

Thank Amanda R

Well worth the visit to see this building. Big Ben is right at the corner and Westminster Abbey across the street.

My second tour. Excellent, althoughthis time we could not go to the Sovereign's Robing room as I think it was under maintenance. Love the history, esp Westminster Hall.

Reaching this and other places in LOndon is so easy, either by bus or underground. Take your time to walk, enter and live each corner of Westminster!

One can visit either the House of Commons or the House of Lords, free of charge. There is a bit of a wait for either house....with the House of Commons typically being the most popular venue. You have to go through a metal detector so do not bring too much stuff with you. You can stay as long or as little as you like. Just seeing the inside of this very old and very famous piece of architecture is worth the visit. And of course....you are right there next to Westminster Abbey, Westminster Pier.....so many things to see and do in one small area.
