The staff at check in was uncooperative to the point of being belligerent. That certainly started the stay off wrong. I had booked for 5 nights, so was pretty much stuck. The hotel is located directly across the street from the Islamic Center of England if that is of interest. It is a 4 block walk to the Kilburn Park underground, then a 20 minute ride to Central London. The only point of "historical" interest in the near area is the Abbey Road Studios which is about a 25 minute walk. The hair dryer in the room was almost an antique and worked for only about 30 seconds before overheating, so had to call for another hair dryer. The Executive Lounge does not serve on Friday and Saturday nights although the website said it would serve. The staff in the lounge was very friendly, but they ran out of soft drinks 4 out of 5 days. I was told that they had to wait for delivery. When I called the restaurant manager, I found that they certainly had soft drinks in the restaurant, so would send up immediately. Staff just apparently did not want to bother getting from downstairs. The Concierge was very helpful. He even told me he would make phone calls to friends for me to avoid the huge per minute charge from the room. Internet worked well. One would be best to choose a Marriott in Central London. I am sure the front desk staff would be much nicer.

Room Tip: Choose a Marriott in Central London. It will be worth the difference.

Had a fantastic long Easter weekend here for my 30th Birthday. The room was slightly on the small size, but well appointed and comfortable. When we checked in, I realised it was a feather room, which I am allergic too. I called reception and it was no trouble for them to change all the pillows and duvet for feather free.
The room was a little too warm over night, with a air circulation rather than conditioning but after mentioning this to staff they made sure that our window was left open when we were out in the evening and put a fan in the room.
I was very surprised and grateful to find a balloon, card and gift of two cocktails in our room on the day of my birthday, the card had even been signed by all the staff!
Regarding travel, the Bakerloo line (Kilburn Park) is a very short walk away, only 5 mins or so and is within zone 2 (20 minute ride into central London). Parking at the hotel was exceptionally expensive, but we found a website called parkatmyhouse which allowed us to park on someone’s driveway for £35 for 4 days.
There is a Tesco Metro a few doors down on the same street, and a Starbucks almost next door. Its an excellent location, especially if you are travelling south on the M1 to reach London, 10 minutes from J1.
We stay in a lot of Marriott’s around the world, and this was definitely one of the better ones.

Room Tip: Executive Rooms are larger with access to the executive lounge. This gives you 24/7 access to drinks...

The staff were great on checking in, and with any problem we had other than the temperature of the room. The air con clearly wasnt working which made sleeping difficult. The rooms are pretty small but well equipped, the downside for me was the bath is small.

Although the hotel isnt bang in the centre it is out of the charging area to take your car and there are places nearby much cheaper than the hotel to park, and the tube is only a few minutes walk away (Less than 5 mins) so this makes for an easy hotel to get to for a short stay in London. the tube to central London is 10-15 mins.

the executive lounge is nice and modern, I wasn't overly impressed with the breakfast, but drinks are well stocked all day.

I would stay here again.

Review for Marriott Maida Vale

This is a recently renovated Marriott property in a convenient section of Maida Vale very near the tube. Room was large and had nice bed linens. Excellent executive lounge with good pastries, fruit, warm buffet with eggs etc. In general the staff were very helpful but we did have a bad experience that others should be aware of. We asked for a taxi to Paddington station. The person who helped us said a cab would be there in 5 minutes. After waiting for 10 minutes, during which time a number of black cabs came by, she came out to tell us not take a black cab as it would cost more than the hotel's contracted service. The car arrived, and I should have asked how much the fare would be, because we were surprised when we arrived at the station that it was £10. We had taken a cab the night before and it was £7 including gratuity. The driver explained that he is paid £8 and the hotel gets £2 fee! So the staff person was dishonest and we feel ripped off by the hotel. I would stay here again but would be more careful about asking for help.

The prices of the taxi service recommended by our hotel are fixed rates meaning that unlike black cabs; the price does not continue to increase throughout the time spent in the taxi, whether stationary in traffic or not. This service provides the passengers with a set price rather than an estimate from a black cab driver which can greatly fluctuate depending on traffic.

Stayed there with our two teenagers. Got one of the few rooms with two queen beds. As you would imagine, it was small, but clean, nicely appointed. The concierge was a huge help. Breakfast was good. I didn't find it to be as convenient as some said as it is way west of town. I have never had hotter water or greater water pressure in a hotel in my life. Very nice place.

The staff's attention to detail is excellent.
Overall, this is a great hotel. If it is good enough for Dustin Hoffman and Janet Jackson, it is good enough for me.

The hotel is located within a 5 to 7 minute walk from Bakerloo tube line.
There is a supermarket and Starbucks within a 3 minute walk.
Rooms have fridges, clothes iron and trousers press.
Free wifi in public areas.
Hotelbybus offers easy and low cost transfers from LHR.
