I made a group booking for some old friends recently. I booked early directly with the hotel and got a good rate (or at least very competitive in comparison with the week before!). The hotel reception staff were very helpful and friendly and the rooms were very large for central London, as well as very well furnished and appointed. Breakfast was continental but the range or food was great. A short walk from many major sites, the hotel was also quietly located, which meant for good quality sleep. We didn't use the pool but it looked excellent. All in all, a great spot and good value if you book at the right time. I would definitely use the hotel again.

Room Tip: Some rooms overlook the back of the hotel and although these have no view as such, they do offer an...

This is a regular choice for business travel. Rooms are spacious, clean but I would not choose to stay for leisure purposes. Too traditional and far better choices in London for similar rates. On a good rate day, their sister hotel at St Paul's is far superior. The other small thing I don't like is the restaurant at breakfast - far too dark. All in all, it does the trick, but doesn't wow

we stayed here in 2011 and my review was not great, gave them a second chance after we were promised upgrade etc. The suite on the 9th floor was amazing with great views, the bottle of wine and the fruit added a lovely touch. We swam in the pool and did not find it cold but was dissapointed you could net get a coffee even though there are tables/chairs and a bar. The breakfast rrom has deffinitely got its act together since last year and breakfast was ok even though we had eaten before the toast and coffee arrived. the staff are efficient and very helpful and would recomend this hotel to anyone - Thankyou for making our stay lovely

Room Tip: room 907 amazing views - king bed only

This was my first to the Grange Holborn and a nice memorable for me. The staff I would very pleasant and helpful on arrival. The lobby area was bright and airy which and noticeably sound proof from the hussle and noise from outside on Southampton Row and Bloomsbury Way, which I expected from the heart of London.

The rooms I had was an executive suite on the 8th floor. This room was spacious very clean and elegant for my one night stay in London. The view was good enough however the top floor I am sure would have a great view if wishing to impress your loved one.
The lobby area is very comfortable with lounges and quiet places to read or have a drink from the bar situated in the lounge area. All bright and elegant chandeliers hanging above your head.

The porters and concierge was excellent and always at hand, as well as the Duty Manager , on my visit was Kristine. She was very good indeed.

The hotel is situated 2 minutes from Holborn Tube Station which excellent links to Liverpool St train Station and the links to the airports, which I had to travel to Stansted Airport. There and back in 90 mins ( including waiting for the flight arrival ). The hotel is also situated close to Covent Garden and the Theatre area around Shaftsbury avenue and Drury Lane. Walkable within 5 - 10 minutes, which saves a fortune on the taxi fares.

Ensure that you include a breakfast with your stay, otherwise it is £46 for two guests. It a buffet style choice which was a good selection of cold meats and cereals. Also a full cooked english breakfast is included. However when you paying those prices, certainly with a cafe not far with the normal £6 - £7 for a full english breakfast surely you could spend your well earnt money in London elsewhere.

A very professional hotel with a 4 - 5* star. Unfortunately this would include their bar prices which had a sting in their tail ... Ouch. Find a local pub close by towards Covent Garden or the Strand which will numb that pain. Enjoy. A very nice hotel.

Plus my new fiancé ...who said yes on my stay that night, enjoyed her visit. So overall a great stay and a fabulous memory.

Room Tip: Not all rooms are booked so it is always a good idea to phone ahead and request what deals they have...

We stayed here for 2 nights over the weekend. We had reserved 2 rooms for a cheaper pay -in- advance fee and when we arrived at Reception we were told that we had been given upgrades for both. That was a great start!
The check in was very efficient and all the staff were extremely friendly, very polite and helpful.

Our rooms were on the fifth floor and basically had a view over neighbouring buildings but that can't be helped - we didn't expect scenic views in that location! Both rooms were fantastic - each with 2 Queen size beds and one room also had a sofa. The bedrooms were clean and nicely decorated, as were the bathrooms.
Tea and coffee (& biscuits!) are provided as are a range of toiletries. If you need extra just ask!

The tv's had a good range of channels - with at least one channel for French, German, Italian, Spanish and Japanese speakers. That really impressed me! They even have Sky Sports channels - which is a definite first for me in a hotel in the UK and abroad!
If the tv was off, there was a very, very slight rumbling noise every so often which we assumed was possibly the Picadilly Tube line running close by but it wasn't a problem for sleeping. The double glazing keeps out traffic noise.

Breakfast was a delicious choice of everything you would expect from a first class continental breakfast. For an extra £8 you can opt for the English breakfast in addition to everything else. Frankly couldn't possibly have managed to eat it all!

The hotel is about a 5 minute walk to Holborn Underground stationand there are bus stops even closer for travelling in all directions. There are lots of different types of shops around, including Tesco Express and Sainsbury's local! Far too diverse to mention - Google it. Brilliant location generally.

Taxi fare from Waterloo station between £8 and £10 (that was a Friday afternoon and Sunday morning).

I can honestly say that this is the first hotel I have stayed in anywhere, where ALL the staff were simply great. Nothing was too much trouble. Well done The Grange Holborn! Will definitely be back.

Room Tip: Rooms 504 and 506. Shhhh quiet!

I've stayed at the St Paul's and Tower Bridge Grange hotels and this is definitely the worst of the three. The room was small and the bathroom tiny. The Spa faclities were also pretty disappointing in comparison to the other hotels and the showers on a par with an unloved leisure centre. On the positive side it's in a good location, within walking distance of Leicester Square, etc, and is generally clean.
