“Lovely.”
Reviewed November 12, 2012

Having read all the good reviews of the Alhambra, I chose it for a short stay as I was arriving from Euston, less than 10 minutes down the road, and I wasn't disappointed. Room was small but spotless and with everything I needed. It was really quiet despite the central location. Breakfast was great; hearty full English with the Continental option too. Staff very friendly and helpful and nice to my little girl. Couldn't fault it - definitely recommend.

Room Tip: I was in room 2, which is at the back - very quiet.

Stayed for 4 nights at the Alhambra Hotel. I would day the service was excellent. The staff were very attentive and could not be more helpful, esepecially the kitchen staff who were very quick on their feet and eager to look after everyone. As far as Breakfast hotels go, this is one of the better ones, slightly above the budget priced hotels but worth it. The English breakfast was really nice and served hot.

The rooms though a little on the small side at least had en suite shower & toilet and came equipped with tea and coffee facilities.

The proximity to King's Cross tube station, St Pancras International and Euston is a big advantage and the location is also well served by buses too.

Overall a pleasant experience and if going to London again, i certainly would chose this hotel again,

Gerald.

I stayed at Alhambra for a week since 5 years in this hotel. Very good quality for value. Perfect situation just in front off St Pancrass. Rooms very clean and everything you need is provided. Bruno and his team are very friendly.

Room Tip: At the rear and not to close from the stairs, it's quietest.

I came to London for my daughter's graduation with my wife, from Paris. This hotel is very close to the St Pancras Eurostar station. Very clean, extremely clean. But it is a London hotel, the size of the room are miniscule: a double bed, a washbasin, tiny TV, a small closet to hang things. Shower and lavatory down the hall. Four flights up with no elevator, not for the weak of heart or knee. But given those downsides, it is clean as I said, and at under 100 pounds, a good deal for London, with of course the hefty English breakfast included. Nice staff. A functional solution for a quick viist from the Continent.

Room Tip: Ask for a lower floor if you cannot do stairs

A small and cosy family-run hotel, very conveniently located at just 2-minutes walk from King's Cross St. Pancras tube and railways stations from where you can directly go everywhere in London and its outskirts. I stayed in a single room, quite tight but extremely clean and with everything essential in. The hotel front officers are very helpful and kind with clients coming from over the world. Breakfast is served only until 9am so don't oversleep: you can choose between standard continental and traditional English breakfast. A really suitable pick if you look for a budget basic accommodation in the too expensive central London.

Stayed for 2nd time at hotel in the main hotel this time in a twin bedroom which was reasonably set out with coffee making facilities, wardrobe, tv & ensuite bathroom! Had a nice full English breakfast with plenty of toast, spreads etc. We were very grateful to Sylvia & the owners for accommodating us changing our booking due to a personal emergency. Would happily stay here again as ideal for not having to take cases on tube when arriving at Kings Cross & they let you leave/collect your cases later! Well done again Alhambra!

We (my husband and our 4 teenage children) stayed at Alhambra whilst visiting London this half term. We stayed 2 nights and booked after my husband and I had previously stayed in July for one night to go to a concert in Hyde Park. We booked it then on good recommendation from Trip Advisor reviews and we were really pleased we did.
This visit was just as high standard, we were remembered from last stay too!

From ease of booking, welcome on check in, speed of check in, room cleanliness (all three rooms we booked looked like they had just been redecorated that week! Spotless - Not even a spec of mildew on a shower seal!)

So close to Kings Cross station too - straight across the road from Costa coffee, down the side of the Library and you're there - 2 minutes it takes us! No having to cart cases onto tube or taxi to get to another part of the city. This is good when you're leaving too, as they will look after your case once you've checked out and because its so close to Kings Cross you are able to plan your last day right to the final 10 minutes before your train home - excellent!

Warm rooms, comfortable beds and pillows. Tea, coffee and milk a plenty. Soap, shower gel, hairdryer. Free WiFi. TV. Good lighting. Plenty plug sockets. Enough wardrobe and cupboard space. Safety box.
Really good english breakfast, friendly staff, nothing too much trouble, good selection of cereals for 2 of our girls who don't 'do' full cooked breakfast!

Pro's:
*A skip from Kings Cross station. Means you don't have to cart your suitcase far if you're initially arriving by train. They will keep your case free of charge after check out too.
*Friendly and small enough to feel like you're being put up by family, you feel your custom is valued
*Spotless rooms, with uber clean fresh shower rooms. Modern reception area and quirky/welcoming interior.
*Very reasonably priced when compared to other good hotels
*Very safe and secure feeling (24 hour manned reception) especially for families and when its necessary to have young teenagers etc in a separate room
*Lovely hearty breakfasts with good selection of food and drink. (Our girls said the hot chocolate was the best they'd had!)

Cons:

*Non that we experienced on either stay

In a nutshell, we would not look to book anywhere else on our subsequent visits to the capital. Hopefully we will always manage to squeeze in to this lovely hotel?!
Thank you Alhambra Team
