Hilton London Paddington

As others have noted, you can't beat this for an evening in London before a morning train to Heathrow. It's physically attached to Paddington Station, giving internal access to tube and trains, including Heathrow Express and Heathrow Connect. Our "executive" room was spacious and comfortable, with both shower and tub. We had access to the Executive Lounge, with refreshments and reading areas, and serving an excellent breakfast buffet.

We were surprised by the lack of free wi-fi, either in the room or the lounge--wi-fi cost 15 pounds per day in the room, and you learn when you arrive in your room that you must go down to the desk to get an adapter to install in your room, and still use a user name and password to access the wi-fi. In the public areas, shorter-term access is available for reduced fees.

Television signal was a little erratic, and there were few stations other than news. As it happened, this was during some of the civil disturbances in the area, so we were tuned in there, anyway.

Room Tip: Executive room seems to be a worthwhile upgrade

The Hilton is in an ideal location with access to Heathrow, the Underground, and Bond Street shops. I will definitely stay at this Hilton again.

Hotel is overpriced and service is sorely lacking. AC didn't work and room was dirty. The only good thing about the hotel is that you can leave your luggage here and then come back and take the train to the airport.

Stayed two nights at the beginning of our vacation.
Arrived a little early (used the Heathrow Connect, 10 minutes longer than HExpress, half the cost). One of our rooms was ready, the other was not, so we were able to dump all our luggage in one room, and move into the second room right next door only a couple of hours later.
Efficient staff at check in. Fair sized rooms, overlooking Eastbourne Terrace. We got a little traffic noise, mostly the occasional siren, but nothing to disturb our sleep.
I had stayed here previously, and booked here again because of the great location: easy access from Heathrow, three Tube lines (although two were closed for refurbishment).
Easy check out, able to leave our bags for pickup later in the day.
Only real negatives: a bit impersonal (but it is a large Hilton), and if I'd hadn't used Hilton points - a bit on the pricy side.

This hotel is very well located - if you are staying in London and need to go the the airport - this is perfect you can walk to the the heathrow express in under 10 mins from the hotel and at heathrow in 15 . Saves a lot of time worrying about traffic and transport in London.

Room Tip: rooms are nice and functional

In October 2010 we reviewed this hotel and said that we would be back. And so we were, for four nights. We were upgraded, I think, to room 642. Get it if you can. It has an outside terrace probably as big as the room itself, with a lounge chair, table, side chairs and footstool. We certainly didnt expect to be lounging outside in the middle of London. And you can keep the patio doors open, letting in lots of fresh air. The bed is comfortable, lot of goodies in the Executive Lounge, free Internet, handy to bus, train and subway. What more could you want? The staff were great. We had forgotten our CAA card which we had used for the room discount, but the clerk gave us the rate anyway. We couldnt get tickets to The War Horse on-line but the concierge got us fabulous seats. If I have any quibble it is with the lack of dresser drawers but this seems to be common in European hotels. Anyway, we are planning to return to London in 2012 and I am sure this will be our hotel again.

Well positioned hotel. All connections are just out the door steps like express trains to Heathrow Airport and more. That is why my wife and I will always stay at the Hilton Paddington Hotel for our flights to Europe and Asia. Good service, clean rooms and good breakfast, all that we need for our onward journeys - long or short. Can't fault this hotel. This hotel kept me loyal because they can answer all my needs. Well done! See you again on our next journey.
