The location is great and everything that you need is close. The stuff is nice. The room was ok, nothing special. What I really didn't like is that the hostel doesn't have a kitchen and the breakfast wasn't included in the prize. I start every morning with coffee and I need to check my mail but I didn't do this once in the hostel because I needed to pay for the coffee plus the wifi (which is really expensive). Instead I went to Starbucks when at least the wifi was freee. This hostel is not a place where to hang out and meet new people.

My family and I have just got back from a weekend at this hostel. It was OK (most of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful), but not great. Two things spoilt it for us really:
(1) We were put in a very nice room but it was on the front of the building on the first floor. Due to heavy traffic on the Euston Road we could not sleep AT ALL. The staff were very helpful in moving us to a room at the back for our final night. This room however was dark, poky and depressing. But at least it was quiet! I am a Londoner and have always been able to sleep through traffic but this was exceptionally loud, especially because of ambulance and fire engine sirens. So I would advise you to book a room at the back, no matter how soundly you think you'll sleep!
(2) We have a 6 year old boy whose appetite is small. We decided to get him his evening meal in the hostel cafe. Looking at the menu I saw that they do chips, and sausages. So I asked if we could have a small portion of chips with a sausage. The guy at the counter said no, because although they had chips, and they had sausages, there wasn't a button on his till that would enable him to "put it through"!!! Ridiculous. I couldn't believe it so I checked again, "But you do HAVE chips? And you do HAVE sausages?" The answer was "yes" to both. "So can't we have chips and a sausage?" "No, because there is no such meal as "chips and sausage" on the till". So I asked if they do any other kinds of kids' meals. The answer was no. It seems that all the meals come pre-prepared/pre-packed (maybe prepared off-site and brought in and warmed up?) and there is absolutely no flexibility whatsoever with the menu. And no child-size meals. Crazy for a hostel claiming to be family-friendly!
Definitely won't be staying here again, I'm afraid, or at least not with the family.

Room Tip: Get a room on the back, and high up, if you want any sleep. The cafe/bar is a reasonably nice place...

I stayed here with 4 other friends in a private room with an ensuite in July 2011.

First thing I noticed was the location. We got off the Eurostar out of St Pancras Station and the hostel was literally across the road. This also meant that you had a tube station right across the road which made it really easy to get around London.

The room we stayed in was pretty basic but was clean and was good value for the price.

The only thing was that there wasn't much going on for a hostel. If you are a young traveller and looking to meet people this wouldn't be the hostel for it.

But overall we enjoyed our stay here.

A good inner city hostel. Very close to tube station and international (Eurostar) terminal. The staff were all very friendly and the rooms were clean and warm. Good for families, single or small group travelers. Was very convenient for me as I had to catch the train to Belgium very early and was only a two minute walk to the Eurostar. There is a bar that does breakfast and hot meals throughout the day which comes in handy. Wifi is a bit pricey but hey, it's London, everything is pricy. Would stay here again.

We started a 6 week backpacking trip at this hostel in London. Compared to the rest of our trip, this was a good, clean and friendly place. Good location. Loved the self catering kitchen and yet the coffee shop was just as good.

I stayed here for a week and found the overall experience to be pretty average. As probably mentioned by others it's not the greatest place to stay for young solo travellers, it was lacking in a social vibe whatsoever. The majority of people I encountered during my stay were older people or families with small children. The staff were generally really friendly and I found the location excellent - only 2 minute walk from Kings Cross/ St Pancras station, 20 minute walk to Camden (markets/bars etc) and 5 minutes to the local shopping centre (Brunswick). The dorm room was okay, very dark though. Strange shower with no curtain so everything in the bathroom got wet each time you used it. Lockable cupboards in the room were a plus and the bed itself was really comfortable - but the noise was terrible. At the time of my stay there was a construction site right next door which meant jackhammers and machinery first thing in the morning, as well as the usual traffic noises from the main road all through the night. The TV room and cafe were nice areas, I didn't like the food from the cafe though (but thought O'Neill's next door was really good for a cheap, quality meal). Also didn't like that you had to pay for wi-fi, and even then you could only access it in the common areas. Overall - reasonably clean, good staff and great location but I was really put off by the room noise and overall lack of atmosphere.

"Get what you pay for" sums the place up.
Rooms ok. Bed ok. Everything ok.
The hostel is on a very busy road (even for London standards) and the traffic noise is very loud throughout the night. A hundred yards up the road is a fire station, which was very popular, so sirens going throughout the night. Awful nights sleep.
Our particular room was also by the lifts, so experienced a lot of noisy passers-by.
