“Good for London ”
Reviewed July 28, 2014 via mobile

Camp site was clean with normal facilities, toilet blocks have key pads on the doors which is a bit hard to do in the dark, but apart from that a good site, staff are helpful, clean and tidy. No 3 bus to Brixton and then tube we found a good way to get into london, defined nee can Oyster card though

Stayed here for 4 nights to be within easy reach of London on a budget. We weren't members of Caravan Club before but joined to take advantage of member discount - totally worth it! Staff were really friendly, site is compact, quiet and clean with good free facilities and plenty of them. Central London is an hour away by direct bus (£1.45) from outside the site - all cashless now so use contactless bank card or oyster. Really, really enjoyed ourselves and would recommend highly!

We stayed here before we set off to ride London to Brighton as it was the closest campsite to Clapham Common. Great location, with the beautiful park next door and the triangle full of bars and restaurants within walking distance. The site itself is lovely and quiet and very well kept and clean with good facilities. The staff onsite were so helpful and gave great advice and service. Wish we could have stayed longer as leaving at 5.30am wasn't nice and if any of the other guests from the weekend read this sorry if we woke you but it was for a good cause :)

Looked at the sites directory and decided this was the site to stay on for a week to visit London. Decided after looking at the map to travel the long way round the M25 and came in from the A2 turn off, a nice easy run in with no hold ups. I visited friends back along the A2 and used the satnav, this tried to send me through the houses so I ignored it and went my own way, much easier!! The advice from me is do not use the satnav to find this site but use the old fashioned map. Typical Caravan Club Site with nothing to complain about, only praise, (wardens, cleanliness of all facilities and tidiness of site in general)

We stayed here for two nights. The site was a little tricky to find when coming from the East as the caravan club only give directions from the west for some reason. Sue was very welcoming and the site was excellent. Surprisingly quiet, plenty of space and excellent clean facilities. Fairly easy to get in and out of Central London by public transport. Highly recommended. We paid £20 a night for caravan and two people.

This is a surprisingly quiet site given its close proximity to London.

It only just makes it into the very good category because in parts it is like a car park with no clear demarcation between the pitches.

The wardens are very helpful and helped me to solve my internet access problem despite them clearly not being IT experts.

The No 3 Bus takes you straight into Oxford Circus. The site is adjacent to the park. Our satnav was playing up and the site can be difficult to find.

On my personal scoring system very good is from 60/100 to 80/100 and I score the site a 63.

Room Tip: Don't arrive Friday afternoon as the traffic was abysmal

A long weekend stay in our camper was our first time here. We arrived late in the evening but Tony was more than welcoming and helpful in getting us settled and recommending a place for supper. Campsite was great. Gravel pitches were ideal for the mixed weather conditions, we only have a small van so pitch size wasn't a problem.
Shower block was clean and there was plenty of hot water although you might find it a bit stretched in summer. A large park is next door and there are shops and restaurants a short walk away. We travelled into London by train from Crystal Palace station which is a 10 minute walk away, and back by bus, all very convenient as the bus number 3 turns into nightbus N3 and runs throughout the night. We've been camping for years and have friends in London and yet this was our first visit? Great place to stay and excellent value for money. It was, however, busy,so book in advance.
