We stayed three nights at Arosfa. While not on a main street, the location is very convenient, you can walk to several places and also very close to the tube station. The room and the bathroom has everything but at a super compact size. I could stretch my arms and hit both wall of the bathroom. But the best thing was: they had a "real" hairdryer in the bathroom, not one of those silly small hotel hairdryers. So for once, I could enjoy the shower and have good hair for the photos :) ! The breakfast was great and the staff were super kind and polite. On our last day we asked one of the owners to mail a postcard for us (we had the postcard but we forgot to buy stamps for it and everything was closed by the time we had to leave). He was very kind and didn't even take the money for the stamp. Sure enough, a few days later the postcard arrived to its overseas destination. I call this going above and beyond for the comfort of your guests. Will definitely go back!
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- The Arosfa Hotel is a refurbished 200-year old Georgian Town House in the heart of historic Bloomsbury district, the former home of the famous Pre-Raphaelite artist Sir John Everett Millais. The cool white garden squares and wide streets of Bloomsbury have been a pull to thinkers for centuries, and it sometimes seems like every second house has a blue plaque denoting that a great writer, scientist or philosopher once inhabited the building. It was in Bloomsbury that Karl Marx created communism, Virginia Woolf defined the twentieth century British novel, and Charles Darwin first conceived the theory of natural selection. The imposing bulk of the British Museum, home to seven millennia of human art and artefacts, dominates the area, and there are plenty of other academic institutions including Birkbeck College, the beautiful University of London Library, and RADA, London's grandest drama school. ... more less
