Our extended family of 5 stayed for 3 nights in June at this nice, family run small hotel. It is located near the British Museum and in walking distance of many sights, pubs, restaurants and train stations (we had an ~25 minute walk with our suitcases from the London St Pancras train station). The hotel is relatively tall and narrow with a nice entrance though without a lobby, with most rooms on upper floors, requiring a climb up several flights of steps. The rooms are small but comfortable, with 2 of our rooms facing the busy, somewhat noisy street and the other room, much quieter and very pleasant, facing the back of the hotel. The rooms have a safe, adequate lighting, air conditioning, windows that provide adequate natural light and air, TV etc...and a comfortable bed. A large bottle of fresh water is in each room and though a small refrigerator would have been nice, extra cold water is provided upon request. The wonderful breakfast is served, starting at 7:30 am, in the lower level of the hotel, with eggs, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, toast etc...and coffee made to order by friendly John Sr along with OJ, yogurt, fresh fruit. It was a great way to start the day! We enjoyed a nice pub/cafe close by called Plough for 2 of our meals (and for those in need of a Starbucks, it is a few minutes walk down the street!) One can walk ~20 minutes to the Big Bus Tours Hop on/off bus stop which is a great way to see the city. A ~30 minute walk to the fun Covent Garden area (with its street performers, market, shopping, cafe's...) was also enjoyable for our family. The owners reserved a taxi for our departure to Heathrow which was very helpful. Overall, the great location and friendly owners makes The Morgan Hotel a nice place to stay while visiting London!

Room Tip: If you are a sound sleeper, the rooms facing the street should be fine. Or turn on the AC or bring a...

I have made many trips to London with small groups for 20 years, and I believe I have found the PERFECT place to stay! This small family-run hotel has everything I look for in a place to stay--a great location, VERY CLEAN, safe, en-suite rooms, delicious breakfast, close subway stops, nearby restaurants, attractions, and shops, and run by the Ward family who are wonderful hosts. Thanks again to John Snr., John Jr., and David Snr. for a wonderful stay. I hope to see you again next June!

Myself and a colleague stayed here overnight for a conference at the nearby Congress Centre on Great Russell Street. We had two rooms on the ground floor at the back of the hotel. My friend smokes so he was able to open the door at the back of his room which led into a small walled garden with a patio set which was a nice little touch. If the weather had been nicer it would have been a perfect place to sit and spend the evening.

The free wifi was patchy and didn't work most of the time but i've often found this to be the case in older hotels. There was a computer available in the hallway for guest use but we didn't need to use it.

The rooms themselves were clean enough and the beds were comfy. The rooms were small but the location of the hotel more than made up for this. It was about 15 mins walk to Regent Street from the hotel which meant it was a good location for shopping or taking in the local sights. There are loads of restaurants nearby within easy walking distance.

Breakfast was downstairs in the basement, the food was nice and included in the room price. When we checked out we asked if we could leave our luggage as the conference was only a few doors away and we didn't want to have to lug our cases around. The desk clerk was happy for us to leave our stuff in the office.

If you want a no frills hotel for a shopping break at a decent price then i'd recommend this place. You don't get luxury but it beats staying in an overpriced travel inn near an airport any day.

One thing i have mentioned is disabled access. I didn't see any.

I had the pleasure of spending three nights in the Morgan hotel recently. I was given a room in the hotel annexe - a few doors down. This comprised a long, narrow room in the basement of the Georgian terrace. The room was more than ample. The en suite shower/toilet was spotless. The room itself was very quiet and opened out onto a small, private yard with wisteria climbing over the walls. Breakfast is served in the hotel itself. Although space is at a premium, the Morgan is not claustrophobic. The English breakfast was again ample and promptly served. The hotel is located just around the corner from the British Museum and close to Tottenham Ct Road tube station. Above all the staff at the Morgan were excellent and very welcoming, without being intrusive. The Morgan really is the best value for money I've yet found in London.

Stayed over a week at the Morgan. Great location in London near the Museum and UCL. Good dining around most corners.Convenient walk to at least 3 Tube stations. Room was compact, clean and comfortable for one. Breakfast was a big plus. Staff were very polite, friendly and happy to help. No lifts means it is a bit of climb for the higher floors.

We stayed three nights at the Morgan, due to its proximity to our daughter's school, and the British Museum. The rooms are small, but very tidy. There is no lift, but the staff is very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is a very nice treat. Excellent value for a great London location. Highly recommended for the value conscious traveler.

Room Tip: Our room overlooked the courtyard, and was very quiet.

A great place to stay in the heart of London. We were pleased with the location, backing onto the British Museum, 10 to 15 minute walk or Tube to Soho, Piccadily, Covent Gardens and loads of fine dining. Hotel is family run, efficient clean and comfortable. Our room was on the back of the hotel and very quiet. Meals are "English Breakfast" and adequate to start your day.
