Really nice bar, drinks pricey though! But who cares when you can sit outside in a lovely evening & soak in the views of London!

“Not cheap though ...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 25, 2013

Stayed at the Hilton Doubletree for two nights.. Thought on the last evening we would enjoy a drink on the 12 th floor roof tops bar, wonderful views of Tower bridge and the Gerkin behind the hotel.
The prices aren't cheap.. £6 for a bottle of Peroni! And £9 for a glass of Sauvignon!
Really nice place.. But why make it so expensive ?

“Expensive but worth a drink or 3”

Expensive but to be expected with its location and views! Good selection of drinks available & nibbles had a different twist.

“Proposal!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 4, 2013

My partner and i love this hotel and in London and esp the Sky Lounge. It has amazing views of Tower Bridge, River Thames and the Shard. That area is my fave in the whole of London the sky lounge is perfect for sitting on the terrace or even in the bar to see everything. Due to this my boyfriend, now fiance proposed to me on the terrace back in May. It was the most gorgeous day, sun was shining, we sat on the terrace, cocktail in hand and he went down on one knee. Was the best day ever!
He picked the perfect place to do it, it was a special place for us and now will remain special even more so now.
Would definately recommend the hotel and lounge to anyone. The staff are very friendly and have been lovely since they found out about our engagement. Definately go and visit if you get the chance.
We have stayed in the Thames Suite before in this hotel and this has similar views to the lounge - stunning. If you can stretch to it, do it!

“Afternoon Tea”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2013

Yesterday we went for afternoon tea at the Doubletree Hilton Tower of London in the Skylounge. We had pre-booked for 5 of us to celebrate my sons 18th birthday. We had been here a few times before for drinks. The view is outstanding.

The afternoon tea is £20 per head plus 12.5% service charge so not cheap. It was served beautifully and we asked to move to the front so we had a better view. The tea they use is not particularly good not as good as I make at home! My only other comment is the sandwiches. I felt that they were not value for money and were obviously pre-prepared several hours before our arrival and were very cold and the bread on the smoked salmon was very cold and soggy. We each received 4 sandwiches by that I mean the equivalent of a quarter of a round! They were tiny! Straight out of a very cold fridge and possibly slightly stale. On the other hand the scones were lovely and served warm. The cakes were more like petit fours tiny but delicious. I think that for the money one would expect fresh and more substantial sandwiches.

The service was acceptable.
