Description: On a pretty residential street just off of Warwick Avenue, you'll discover a Persian oasis in the shape of Kateh, a contemporary Middle Eastern restaurant with a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. The Kateh menu is based around traditional Persian cuisine, all utterly authentic, showing those historical French influences in the flairs and techniques something especially seen in Kateh's sublime desserts. Carefully put together by owner Narges Pourkhomami, for whom Kateh is quite clearly a labour of love, the restaurant combines the best of modern Iranian hospitality and style with Persian authenticity and touches of London sophistication. So not only is the menu painstakingly put together to offer guests the perfect dining experience but Kateh's surroundings; the white washed walls, the simplistic furniture and the eccentric reclaimed tabletops, add that something extra that elevates one's visit to the next level. Al fresco dining can be enjoyed out in the restaurant's Mediterranean inspired terrace, which whisks you away on a short holiday without ever leaving the ground.

Unless you have never tasted genuine Persian food before, this restaurant may appear to you as "Persian". The food was low in quantity, high in price, and the quality was nothing to shout about, unles as I said you are a novice to Persian cooking. But two of the most awful features of this place were its incredibly tight ambiance and worse than that its unfriendly and rude staff. The women head waiter could not spread English properly and the Italian head waiter was surly. Also watch out for being over -charged! If they can get away with it, they will. Never will go there again and will discourage others to go there as well.

Kateh is a lovely Persian restaurant tucked away in Warwick Place near Warwick Avenue Station in Maida Vale. The place is extremely small with tables too near to each other. The staff are attentive and the food lovely. It gets very very busy, there is too much noise and when we left we had awful headaches and felt as if we had just landed on a plane.

Went for lunch with family. Great food and friendly staff. Only problem, and I feel unkind saying it, was screaming from a disabled child in a smallish room with no soft furnishings to absorb the noise - not sure what either her poor mother or the staff could have done about it though. Mixed grill for 2 at £42 seems dear, but was delicious for the quality and taste. Outstanding puddings, especially the saffron ice cream with pistachios.

We didn't have a reservation. On a Saturday night. They were a little hesitant to let us in at first. But they did. And they were very nice to us. They didn't rush us at all. And the food, including the recommendations, was just wonderful. What a superb little neighborhood secret.

This morning I had a look on trip advisor and saw a few bad reviews, so I was sceptical about going here with the family.
Everything was perfect from the food, service, and the atmosphere.
Four of us visited on Sunday lunch and each of us ordered a different starter and main course; so we all got to try a bit of everything. The quality of food and raw materials used was so much better than any other restaurant. By far the best Persian / Iranian food; we have ever experienced.
My favourite was the chenjeh kebab, the most delicate organic bbq lamb; too good to express in words. A must experience. Also the red wine was excellent named: Rubesco. And for dessert the Apple Strudel was heaven.
