“Reasonably priced meal,reasonably good food.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 19, 2012

We ate here as an extended family group recently.Good value for the area ,maybe it was an off day but food not as good as have eaten in this chain before. As other people have said not a romantic venue but great for groups. Good service although restaurant was quiet.Food was mixed, calamari great, pad thai indifferent and surprisingly they couldn't adapt one of the stir frys to make it less spicy for my 80 year old mother , stiil can't figure that out if it's cooked to order.

“Would go back again to try more dishes!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 13, 2012

My friend had been to this chain before and loves the food, so suggested it for lunch. It was pretty empty when we turned up (half 12 on a Saturday), but it was nice to come into this calming atmosphere, with the incense burning, low lit lighting and hushed tones.
The menu is nicely varied with noodles, rice dishes, curries, stir-fries and salads and very decently priced too. We decided to share a couple of sides for starters, with a main to follow.
We were surprised (but secretly happy) to see all 4 dishes arrive at once. It hadn't occurred to either of us to specify the sides to come first. It was probably a good thing though because this is a place that is very generous with their portions.
The Thai calamari was gorgeously soft and moreish, with a light ginger and peppery kick. You do well to eat with your eyes here. I had the Sen chan pad Thai for my main and it was beautifully presented, in all its layers. You do have to mix it all up though to appreciate all these different flavours together!
The service probably could have been a bit more attentive but wouldn’t stop me from going back again, as the food is gorgeous!

“Good food, small portions, slow service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 9, 2012

Visited this branch at 7pm on a Thursday evening and whilst it was busy, we were seated in less than a minute. All of the tables are square with benches around the outside so if you’re not a fan of sharing a seat with a stranger (similar to the style of Wagamama) then this already isn’t for you! If there’s one or two people joining you then it will be fine to sit at a diagonal to each other however it could be difficult to have a conversation with a large group of people.

The jasmine juice drink was extremely small for the price however was delicious. The butternut & pumpkin curry is recommended however rice is not included with the curry dishes. The portion size wasn’t particularly large however it tasted good and had just the right level of spice. The coconut rice I ordered looked suspiciously like the sticky rice that the person joining me ordered so I can’t comment on the rice other than what I did have was okay but nothing out of this world.

Service was particularly slow in terms of both ordering food & drink and length of wait for food to be served. Staff were pretty slow at asking us if we would like anything extra or the bill too so service was one of the letdowns. Whole meal came to £15 each which I thought was reasonable for this type of informal eating similar to Wagamama, Wahaca etc. Would definitely visit again but possibly try another location.

“Good cheap Thai food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2012

A great place to get a quick filling meal if you are out shopping on Oxford Street or staying in one of the nearby hotels. The food is very good - spicy, not bland, as one would expect from a good Thai establishment. You can't go wrong with the green curry which is better than my local restaurant at home. There may be a line at 7pm, but it moves fast and the service is quick. The only minus is the flavored ice tea which comes in a very small cup priced at L3 - ripoff! But otherwise you can't go wrong here. For single travelers there is also nice counter seating at the large window where you can watch the street go by.

“Avoid Panton St branch”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 16, 2012

I've eaten in several Busaba locations in London & happened to be in the Leicester Square area, so dropped in for dinner last night. I ordered the green chicken curry thinking "you can't go wrong" ... But you can!! - the quality of the meat was really gristley & slightly pink & I questioned this with our server - who assured me "it was ok". The sauce was nice, but it seemed like such a crappy cheap piece of chicken with horrible texture & undercooked - i think the chef was aiming to camoflage the quality of the chicken by drowning it in spicey curry sauce!
Also, the Thai calamari (signature dish here) was overlooked & really rubbery. Really disappointing. Avoid this branch & try Soho or Oxford street - much better.
