“Average Indian Food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 30, 2012

First time in this restaurant and found it to be very average. The space between the tables is too small you feel as if you were in everyone's conversations.
The starters of vegtable and chicken pakora were edible but were of poor standard due to the method of outer preparation.
The main meals were good, although the garlic nans were poor.
Overall passable, but would not rush back.

“What a difference this time”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2012

Having been several times before, we have always been warmly welcomed, the staff have been friendly, and the food first class.
What a contrast this time to our first visit, when we were welcomed five minutes before closing time, for which which we were grateful.
On this occasion, we arrived at 11.20 pm, to a complete absence of a greeting, to be told that the restaurant closed at 12.00. A table was quickly cleared, and we assumed that this was for us. The waiter was brusque, and completely lacking in pleasantries. All the staff looked as if they did not want to serve us. Admittedly, one of them spoke pleasantly to us later on.
We enjoyed what we had, being determined not to let the atmosphere spoil things, although the food was not as good as on previous occasions. We wanted out as soon as we had finished eating, but no thanks or goodbyes were expressed as we got up to go, let alone the door being held open
Watch the service charge on the bill at 12.5%.
We are not that hard to please, but were really made to feel uncomfortable, and will have to be hard pushed to go again.

We were six friends, out for the night in London, on the agenda was to have a curry at the Grand Indian Restaurant which we picked up from the internet as stating “Foods crazy Grand Indian, Covent Garden”.
At about 9 pm Saturday, 10th December, we entered the restaurant to find it full house. We were asked to wait at least 15-20 minutes, not before long we got the table.
To my amazement they served beef curry, which is rare amongst indian restaurants. I ordered the beef acher, it was delicious, and probably the best curry I’ve had in years. It was cooked with mango pickle (sour) tremendously matched with the spices. One of my friends took the karahi duck, again he enjoyed it very much. Halfway through our meal, we were asked how the meal was and one of us, who had the madras chicken, said the curry was a bit salty. The waiter took the plate away and replaced it with another curry and rice.
The staffs were nice, friendly and helpful. This indian restaurant is the obvious choice next time I come into London. I recommend this restaurant to anybody, but try avoiding this on a Saturday night.

“Good service , nice food , reasonable price”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 16, 2011

Hard to fault , service was quite quick , especially considering that the restaurant was full . Food was nice and good portions - menu was more varied that the usual common Indian menus that you find . Decor and ambiance was nothing special . Price was £54 for two including drinks

“Stay away from this place - a rip off”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2011

This restaurant was a big disappointement.
The waiters tried to give us food that we didn't order.
The food was not fresh.
Avoid this place and if you're there be very careful with what you order and get.
