Great food, wine selections, great service. Online booking or call for larger groups ( we were a table of eight)

“Great dinner”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2013

Not the cheapest but well worthwhile. Good place to take people who are hard to please as their food isn't too exotic, but is different enough and tasty enough to keep everyone happy. Seems easier to get a table downstairs, and it's sociable down there, if that's what you want. They had a special menu for those with allergies, and a great range of cocktails. Wine was expensive but very good!

“Awesome experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 20, 2013

We had dinner at NOPI in SOHO - a truly worthwhile experience with perfectly prepared food and attentive, friendly service. We ate downstairs at the communal tables - a less formal dining option to the upstairs restaurant - where you can watch the food being expertly prepared in the kitchen.
We chose to have 2 starters each instead of a main course which was a great way to taste a number of different items on the menu - all of them outstanding, but the pan-fried duck breast, red quinoa, hazelnut beer butter and the courgette and manouri fritters were particularly good.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

“Very very good.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2013

We had a late lunch here last Saturday. the service was good before we had even arrived with a confirmation message mid morning.
We had chosen to eat downstairs as we suffer from terminal nosiness and wanted to see what was going on in the kitchen.
A large party we just finishing when we arrived so we pretty much had the place to ourselves during our time there which we didn't mind in the least but some may find it a little lonely.
The food was excellent throughout. I could recommend our choices but feel you are unlikely to be disappointed with anything on the menu.
Some have mentioned that portions are too small and you remain hungry. this was not the case with us at all and we both have good appetites. We ordered 5 from the tapas ( 1 x meat, 2 x fishy, 2 x veggie) plus a side of polenta fries and this was plenty. We initially were too full for pudding but one appeared anyway with Happy Birthday piped around the plate for my husband whose birthday was a couple of days later - a thoughtful touch.
Drinks wise the Sage and pineapple martini is well worth trying and the espresso was also good.
Service was cheerful and engaging from a very pleasant waitress.
Overall I felt this was good value for money at just under £100 for both of us including service at I think 12%. As well as the food we had 1 x cocktail plus 2 x bottles of Meantime ale as well as coffee.

“very good food with very average service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 12, 2013

Celebrated a very special occasion here and was surprised to be shown such average service. With such great food and accommodating to plant based eaters I really enjoyed the space (pee before you drink too much champagne) and the food. Expect to pay to fill your belly but enjoy each bite. Don't be surprised if you speak on the phone with not so friendly reservation staff that aren't up to date with your reservation details. Waiting at the bar can potentially be a squeeze with a party larger than 4 if there are others waiting.
WIth great cookbooks like Jerusalem by Ottolenghi, I'll plan to cook recipes at home and enjoy the food regardless.
