“Great hotel and great location”
Reviewed August 27, 2013

We booked this as part of a Red Letter Days theatre weekend and were impressed.

We had a twin room on one of the top floors with a great view. The room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom very nice with bath and shower.

The breakfast was delicious and our continental option had lots on offer.

4/5 mins walk from Tower Bridge so a great location.

Staff friendly and efficient

We stayed one night here, and especially for the price, the quality and service we received was outstanding! The room was clean and comfortable, but beds were slightly tough rather than a thinner mattress, but that's what you can expect. The breakfast was an all you can eat buffet, really tasty, and it was included in the room price which was a bonus!
Overall an excellent stay, and plan to come again.

Room Tip: If you plan to travel in two's or more, try and get a twin room as there is much more space.

This is a tricky one to review. What most amazed and disappointed us (we stayed with friends over the weekend) was the obsession of the breakfast staff to point out to us that we had not pre-paid for breakfast, and to insist on us committing to either a buffet breakfast (at a whopping £15) or a cooked breakfast (at an extortionate £25), before we were allowed to sit at our table. As we arrived at separate times we had to go through this process not once, which was embarassing, but twice! We felt more like criminal suspects than valuable guests. This created such a poor impression from what is supposed to be 5* service. Location also poor. We spent £25 on a taxi to the West End. A disappointing experience leaving a negative taste.

Booked from lastminute.com literally last minute and with an attractive rate, this was an excellent hotel to stay at. Walking distance to Shoreditch, Tower Bridge, and the vicinity, it's in an ideal location and within easy access to everywhere.

With a Top Secret Hotel rate and indeed quality, I could stay at this hotel anytime any day.

Really enjoyed r stay here.
The accomadtion is very clean and comfortable, spacious rooms but the corridors are very warm.
Staff very helpful but bar staff have difficulty understanding our language,
Got the menu mixed up but addressed this issue.
Good location right on top of the tube,2 minutes walk away and fantastic views of the tower of London, especially when lit up at night.
Good net work of buses.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with views of the tower ,otherwise u r overlooking into private apartments

We stayed for 1 night 2 adults and 2 children for a weekend visiting London .
First impressions on arrival very good , greeted at the door by porter in hat etc.
I'd emailed beforehand telling them it was my husbands birthday and there was a slice of cake with happy birthday written in chocolate on the plate in the room which I thought was a nice gesture .
The room had 2 king size beds which was great for what you needed . Views not brilliant but that's due to location . We were on the 10th floor and could slightly see the tower . The room was very clean with a large bathroom and great power shower . A bit too powerful at first squirting out in all directions haha. Was a bit disappointed that we only had 2 bath towels between a family of four but it was late and we were too tired to phone down to ask for more so shared them between us . Also the white towels had a few marks on them which I wouldn't expect to see in a 5 star hotel .
I can't comment on the leisure facilities as we didn't get chance to use Them .
Breakfast was very good with a large choice and staff constantly walking round filling up your tea/coffee.
All staff were very friendly .
One of the lifts had broken during our stay so there was only 1 lift for the whole of the hotel to use which was very frustrating as each time it took about 15 minutes to go up and down . Hope this is fixed soon as there was a lot of moaning customers .
The hotel is conveniently a 5 minute walk to tower hill underground which was great with the children . We parked in the car park over the road which was expensive on the Friday but cheap on the Saturday .
Overall we had a pleasant stay in a clean modern hotel . I wouldn't quite rate it 5 star but a very good 4 star as it was no better than the apex 4 stars we have stayed in which in fact the apex had docking stations in room and bath robes etc which the grange didn't . We would use this hotel again at a good rate

Stayed here after booking a "secret location" hotel and we were not disappointed! Fab facilties and we were upgraded to an enormous room with huge bed and sofa etc. All expected facilities in room.
Food a little on the pricy side if requiring room service but all in all, lovely!
