Grange Tower Bridge Hotel
Ranked #227 of 1,077 Hotels in London
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed January 20, 2013

Very large and spacious rooms especially for London. I was on the top (11th floor) and had views to Tower Bridge. In the part of the hotel I was in, there was only one other room so it was very quiet. I stayed here for a week.

Only hiccups I had was on the first day, housekeeping tried to clean the room early even though I had the "do not disturb" sign on. However, when she noticed it she was most apologetic. Also the window cleaners were doing the outside of the building and it was quite a shock to see them cleaning my windows while I was lying in bed! I think they have been more shocked than me :-) Perhaps the hotel should have informed me/other guest of the fact that the windows were being cleaned and to keep the curtains closed.

However, this was not enough to make me give them any less of a review or a five star rating. Staff were most helpful and pleasant.

Location is great for people wanting to visit the East End of London eg Tower Bridge, London Bridge, Brick Lane markets, Spitalfields are all close by.

Also a small Tesco is around the corner if you want to buy some snacks.

Be warned, the bar fridge is a monitored one so you cant put your own food and drinks in it.

Room Tip: Try and get the 11th floor

We got a great deal at this hotel for one double and one twin rooms from the secret hotel scheme on laterooms.com and it was incredible. Rooms were emaculate, I didnt want to the leave the bathroom, the staff were ok and we didnt try the food but off of the rooms alone I will definately be returning.

Stayed on a Friday night in January. Room was a reasonable size with a very comfortable bed and a view of the Gherkin. Bathroom was very clean with its own Ajala Spa toiletries. All very quiet and peaceful. Didn't seem to have any bathrobes in the room but maybe these are available on request. The swimming pool and jacuzzi area was lovely, however the pool was slightly cooler than we'd have liked. The free wifi worked in our room even on the 7th floor which was good. Didn't have the breakfast as it wasn't included in our room rate and I believe they charge £18 per person... we had a much cheaper breakfast down the road, but the restaurant did look nice in passing. Great location only a short walk away from Tower Hill tube station and to the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. Would recommend walking the 15 mins up the road to Heron Tower for a cocktail at Sushi Samba or Duck & Waffle on the 38/39th floor. Concierge very friendly and knowledgeable - looked after our suitcase after check-out whilst we went for a day out in the city. Would definitely return to this hotel.

Stayed one snowy night in January. The location is great - only five mins walk from the tube. Staff were polite and standards of cleanliness, furnishings etc was high. The amenities - gym and sauna, pool, steam room etc were lovely to unwind in. No complaints. I'd stay here again.

They call it the Tower Bridge hotel because it is SO close to the tower bridge and the Tower of London. We had a great view of the "London gherkin" from our window and the room was great. The amenities in this hotel were fabulous. Hot tub, swimming pool, sauna and steam room...just what you need after a long day or walking around London. The tube station was one block away and from there you could get anywhere in London. The staff was very nice, even recommending the pub they go to after work. Even though the hotel is on the other side of London, it gives you a good reason to take the tube into the city and walk back. There are several Grange hotels but tis one was the sleekest, newest and coolest one I've seen. It was so modern that they had touch keys, no more sliding keys! They even let us stay a day earlier than we had planned and stay in the same room at a cheaper rate. Loved coming back to this hotel. There was a Tesco express one block away and even a costa coffee across the street. Those are the local grocery and coffee shops, respectively. Miss London so much, partly because this was the last place we stayed before leaving.

Room Tip: All the rooms looked good. You either had a view of the Thames or a view of the city.

Lovely hotel in a good location..but what really makes it stand out is the excellent service..the staff couldn't do enough to help and went the extra mile, extremely polite and patient. Rooms decent size, nicely furnished and comfortable..we asked for a quiet room and could not hear traffic etc. The complementary continental breakfast was lovely with a great selection..much more than expected..you really don't need the full English! My husband used the gym and said it was excellent. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room

The Grange Tower Bridge ticked all the boxes for me, especially the shower and the only issue (and this is a personal preference) I found bed to be a bit on the firm side. Staff were helpful and it's a quick 5 min walk to Tower Bridge and St Katherine Docks. Didn't try the breakfast but it looked good and there is free WiFi in the hotel. Would stay here again.

Room Tip: Walk to St Katherine Docks for some great restaurants and bars
