“good hotel in dingy surroundings”
Reviewed November 7, 2012

We get to the UK about every second year and we invariably stay in Premier Inns. Our reason for this is that the quality and service are high and consistent right across the whole of their 600 properties. On this trip we spent 19 nights in the Greenwich Inn over 3 separate stays. The Inn staff were most helpful - particularly Nicole, Marsha, Sagita and Amelie. The meal variety and quality was good. The only room problem we had was on our last 5 night stay as our room No 3 on the ground floor was right next to an outside gate to private accommodation which kept noisily opening and closing all night. Internet costs 3 pounds an hour in the Inn but you can get it in a Greenwich email cafe for 1 pound an hour. The Deptford Bridge DLR station is nearby and the DLR system is extensive and easy to use. The drawback with this Premier Inn is that while Boris and his merry men spent lots of money to make the Cutty Sark/Naval College area of Greenwich clean and beautiful for the Olympics the area west to Deptford Bridge and beyond has been allowed to continue to deteriorate. A walk either way along the Greenwich High Road reveals rubbish everywhere and seedy run down buildings.

Room Tip: Stay away from Room 3 on the ground floor

We have stayed there for 3 nights - had managed to prebook with Premier Saver and got 50% off the original price. The hotel is situated a short walk from the DLR Deptford Bridge and also a not so long walk from Greenwich DLR. The location was perfect. We went to see the Blackheath Fireworks and were able to walk back. DLR takes you to the City in 20 minutes, or, if you want a bit of shopping, the hotel is only 2 stops from Lewisham Shopping Centre.

The staff was friendly, the rooms clean. The breakfast was really good and we were spoilt for choice. The kids ate free, which was great. All in all, highly recommended for a short break in London

Room Tip: The family room had one double bed and two singles for the kids.

Only issue during whole stay was the key cards issued during express check in didn't work and it took three attempts and a member of staff later to remedy this. Not a great start but otherwise everything was fine. Good shower, useful mirrors (one full length and one with lights for make up, close to hair dryer). Bit tight that you only get half an hour free wifi but only three pound extra for 24hrs if you really needed it.

This hotel is close to the station, rooms are brandnew spacious and clean. I had a pleasant business stay and the dinner in the resaurant was not too bad at all. The self check inn worked fine as well although I had to get used to it.

Room Tip: Bedroom are all quite good i stayed there 3 times now, good value for money

Stayed at the Premier Inn, Greenwich for one night. I found this one of the best Premier Inns I have ever stayed in. All staff were very helpful and considerate. I was travelling on my own and was made to feel very welcome in the restaurant. Staff gave out taxi number for transport to and from the O2 arena, which saved alot of hassle. Dinner and breakfast good value in meal deal and evening meal was very tasty.

Staff also printed out my boarding pass which was a great help.

Will return and recommend.

Room Tip: Use Deptford Bridge train station, it is the nearest train station and within walking disctance to P...

I had the pleasure of staying in this hotel for 3 weeks and was really comfortable there. My room up on the sixth floor was quiet and the bed was fantastically comfortable. I loved the variety at breakfast and particularly appreciated the gentle, genuine and helpful staff in the restaurant, Winnel in particular.
The location is not central but fine for the DLR station and Greenwich is well connected to the rest of London with a whole variety of options.

Room Tip: Sixth floor rooms are lovely

This is the 2nd time we've stopped at this hotel and my wife and I were disappointed with the only meal there. We had to wait 15 mins for starter, then 45 mins for main this was steak which came still mooing after request for medium to well, when we told Ayaan the manager she went back to kitchen, then re emerged with another steak that was well done. After the main another wait of 20 mins for the dessert, they were very sorry, as there were a lot of people eating, these people were also having to wait. The restuarant was only 75% full.
The room was nice and clean and serviced daily there was also a manager checking to see that the room was clean, the reception were helpful and polite. We were offered a meal as compenastion but did not take up on it.

Room Tip: If travelling by car pre book car parking before travelling as this can be disappointing on arrival...
