This was the perfect venue for us. Friendly service without being over-fussy, great advice on the quantity of dishes to order. We had wondered if the 2 hour slot (12-2) would make us feel rushed, but not at all. Dishes arrived at the right pace, we had plenty of time to enjoy them and time for a leisurely fresh mint tea to finish. The range of tastes we experienced by sharing between the four of us was amazing.. I agree with other reviewers that the cheesecake was incredible, but everything else was a close second! I can't wait to come again.

I have wanted to eat at one of Ottolenghi's restaurants for some time, and my husband managed to get a last minute booking, albeit for a late-ish slot, for lunchtime today. Torrential rain and wind in London could not spoil a very lovely lunch; fresh interesting ingredients, delicious combinations and attentive staff. We can certainly recommend the twice cooked baby chicken! Expensive lunch, but not for what we had and where we were.
We look forward to a summer evening there.

On the Eurostar from Paris to London, we got a call confirming our lunch reservation for that day. We were told that our table was "ours" for 2 hours. The space is beautiful. The food was interesting and delicious. The adorable hostess recommended the Halva ice cream for dessert. YUM! Our only complaint was that our server was not super attentive but the hostess took up that slack.

I see a few other reviewers want the silliness and fussiness of high-end dining in what is essentially a lunch-time bistro setting. More fool them.

We booked an early Saturday lunch slot and found the choice of food (all vegetarian, in our case) quite yummy. Crudités with avocado yoghurt was a treat. But it was the cheesecake, pickled beetroot and thyme honey that stole the show for us (although the courgette and minouri fritters came a close second!).

As for the service? keep the slightly cool, hands-off approach. It works for all the discerning diners as we are perfectly able to pour our own wine and shout out when we need a helping hand.

Well worth the trip from Glasgow.

As a devotee of the suite of Ottolenghi cookbooks, I had to come and give this place a try while on a quick vacation to London. Beautiful clean space to escape to on a blustery winter day. The food was delicious. The "cheesecake" of beans with almonds and beets was my favorite. In contrast, the Polenta sticks with tomato chutney left a greasy feel in my mouth. Lunch was expensive but you knew that, right? Happy I came - now back to those cookbooks!
