“Awful”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 10, 2013

When shopping in Harrods we thought the national geographic would be good for a cup of coffee - what a big mistake. The staff were rude and served coke and coffee in dirty glasses and cups. When paying the bill I thought they would have apologised instead the rude staff member said the cup wasn't t dirty - I'm sorry I think I know when a rim of hardened coffee well above the line of coffee is a dirty cup!, I have never come across such rude, unpleasant staff who gave you the impression you were not welcomed!! Give it a wide birth.

“One Star is Too Much!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 10, 2013

Why the super National Geographic store in Brompton Rd, opposite the iconic Harrods tolerate a Cafe as diabolically bad as this in-store apology for a Cafe-Bistro, I simply don't understand. The NG store staff are exemplary - spend time, effort, interest in/with customers/potential customers, helping them choose from a super range of high quality products. The Cafe has disinterested, slow, rude manager and personnel who don't seem to have even the merest interest in their customers and, if you can possibly wait 20/30 minutes for a table, and then another 15/20 mins to get some attention you will likely be presented with some of the most ordinary, modest-at-best food imaginable. The main servers bar was constantly piled, at times High, with used crockery and glass and paper-ware. I cannot conceive how NG want to risk their generally very good < excellent reputation by exposing their many loyal customers to such a lousy In-Store cafe-dining experience. I was so appalled at my cafe experience, and so were my friends, that we abandoned any thoughts of spending precious time and not-inconsiderable money! with NG - there are many competing offers in this and many other parts of London. In our case Harrods, Gucci, Selfridges and good old John Lewis benefited. Don't go to the NG in store cafe!

“Just rubbish!!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 8, 2013 via mobile

Been to the cafe this afternoon and after standing at the entrance for 20 mins waiting for a table finally sat down. Had to ask the waiter twice for some service. When he did come to serve was told could not have a glass of wine without ordering food. Don't have a problem with the rules of the council but for goodness sake, why not put a sign up at the entrance to let people know. What a complete waste of time! The service is rubbish! We were going to go shopping but not going to spend my money there!!

“Doesn't fit with the NG image!”

Main issue was being told we couldn't have any wine without ordering a meal - apparently this is due to Westminster council rules - however why not have a sign or inform people before they wait 30 mins?

“Quick snack whilst out shopping”

What a dreadful experience. Service appalling and you felt they were doing you a favour by serving you. Food was rubbish and took ages to arrive. In retrospect should have gone to mcdonalds down the road.
