Description: The Kilburn High Road is a hive of activity and is filled with bustling cafs, restaurants and bars in north London. Kish is a favourite with locals for its fresh Persian/Iranian food and cosy, neighbourhood atmosphere, and the restaurant stands out slong the strip with its huge clay oven and chefs work bench in the shopfront window. Step inside and the walls are a deep magenta giving the space a friendly glow. The floors are tiled and the vibe here is informal but Kish is suitable for business dining or fun celebrations. The menu is filled with classic kebabs and grills and we recommend the charcoal grilled lamb chops with saffron steamed basmati rice and a grilled tomato for main course.

This was a fantastic dining experience.... I was a solo diner, but this was a real treat, mostly because they simply made the tandoor naan right there and in seconds after ordering it, you get this fantastic side!! Such a good idea I have been older for years why more Persian restaurants not do this??
The Seneh morgh BA zereshk polo was AMAZING!
Ok so here is the deal, if you have never tried Persian food, this is probably a great place to start:
Appetizer: badamjun
Entree: chicken kabob, but replace the regular basmati with zereshk polo (rice with sour berries in it(so delicious!)
The service was slightly slow, but they were doing a lot of take out and parties.

This Persian restaurant has excellent food and great portion sizes. For 15-20 pounds you can have a great meal and leave feeling quite full and satisfied. We ate here a few times in our previous trips and each time the food quality was excellent. Definitely a place to try if you are staying at the Marriott Maida Vale as it is directly across the street. They also deliver for those in the local area.

Was at the restaurant a couple of times last week as it was one of the closest to the hotel I was staying in.
I'm not an expert in Iranian or Persian food. Tasted it at a restaurant at Leeds and a couple of times at a friend's place. So, it is not for me to say if it is authentic or not. But, whatever they served was excellent on both occasions. The first time I tried Loobia polo (if you are into Indian cuisine, it's more like a lamb biryani), and the second time it was Ghormeh sabzi (boneless lamb cooked in spinach and lentils) with steamed rice. Had a glass of doogh on both occasions, which is more of a dilute sour curd. The food tasted great, the portions were ample enough (I couldn't finish on both occasions).
It seems to be a family run eastablishment, not very big but ample seating space none-the-less. You don't have to wait for long and if you are not sure about the menu, the waiters are always eager to help and explain what it is.
Location wise, it may not be perfect for London, but the taste and the price should be incentives to try out the place.

I dropped in here on the offchance for dinner and had a very tasty meal indeed. The service was a little slow, but that could've been because it was a Saturday night and they had many Iranian families come in. I have eaten in many Persian restaurants all over the world (including in Iran) and Kish was as good as any of them. I had Chelo Kebab Koobideh, which wasn't greasy like another reviewer mentioned, but juicy and tasty, just the way it should be. Plus they served me an enormous plate-load of food, which, despite being starving when I went in, I just couldn't manage. A shame.

I wasn't sure if the restaurant was licensed - no alcohol appeared on the menu - but I noticed some people were drinking wine, so it could be a bring your own type of place.

There is a tanoor oven at the front door - common in many Iranian restaurants - so you know your bread is freshly baked.

All in all, I would visit again.

I went with friends - one ordered the koobideh (cheapest) and the meat was so fatty and greasy; not nice relative to other persian restaurants.

the chicken kebab was delightful, defo would re order this,

Great flavours, as was the lambs shanks with broad bean rice.

service was okay, waitress got a few things wrong and gave many more dishes than we ordered, and we had to pay for her expenisnve errors - be CLEAR!!

the building was a bit shabby with added TVs to make it look modern.
