Description: The Gurkhas Flavour Indian and Nepalese restaurant in Londons Forest Hill is an award-winning restaurant with a relaxed, friendly ambience. The chef, Mr Aryal, Curry Chef of the Year in 2010, has learned his art over many years from some of the best chefs anywhere, including Michelin-starred Alfred Parsad of Tamarind. The restaurant is decorated in colonial-inspired style with dark wood panelling and seating, white table linens and authentic objets. The menu features not only your favourite Indian dishes, but also rare specialties like masu bhutuwa, kukhura aloo and somfu masu with their authentic Nepalese spicing. The Gurkhas Flavour uses only the best ingredients of the highest quality to create simple, fresh, inventive Nepalese and Indian cuisine and is now a huge local success.

“100x better than other takeaways, worth the wait”
Reviewed January 16, 2014

Have had takeaway from here four times now and every time has been delicious. Really fresh, interesting flavours cooked with good quality ingredients and spices (e.g. fresh curry leaves). Many of the dishes have also had really tender meat, which seems extremely rare in most British restaurants of any kind, let alone a takeaway, and a good value one at that... definitely recommend. Yes, the delivery takes a while (generally 40-60 mins, but was 1hr 20 on the weekend once), but it's worth the wait to have real, quality food cooked for you and brought to your door for no extra delivery charge!

“Awful!!!!!”
Reviewed November 2, 2013

The worst curry I have ever had! The food delivery took 2 and a half hours to come! When it finally did arrive the food was cold, greasy and tasteless, the poppadoms were soggy and the complimentary beer was missing. Small portions, awful value for money! Never ordering from here again. EVER!!!!!

“Wish I had a local like this”
Reviewed October 20, 2013

This is the third time that we have been to this place and it hasn't let us down yet.

As other reviewers have noted, it's not the kind of place that would catch your eye if you were just passing, but if you didn't pop in, you would be missing one of the best Nepalese in London.

The food is always excellent and you can taste the freshness of the ingredients; from the mint sauce that comes with the popadoms to the delicious curries. With main courses costing between £5-7 its value that can't be sniffed at and although it's not the place to impress on a first date, i wish I had a local curry house like this.

“best food ive had in years!!”
Reviewed August 23, 2013

I came here for a meal last night with my family on a web site voucher deal. I was a bit sceptical about the deal as it was so cheap. got inside and the décor wasn't that great plus the place was empty. soon after the restaurant started to fill out mainly by people that had made reservations. enough about all that the food...... wow the food was excellent. We (the 4 of us) all ordered something different from starters to main course and sampled each others meals. every single dish was out of this world. I also have to say that the service was incredible and I/we will definitely come back here again. They also do a takeaway and deliver up to 3.5 miles away.

“Surprisingly excellent”
Reviewed June 9, 2013

Tried this place for the first time last night with my family and it was a significant departure from the dull normal Indian restaurant fodder. I had green chicken to start followed by mixed mismas main. Both were excellent, as was the aubergine and potato side. I'll be back soon!
