Description: Bella Italia on Wellington Street is found in the heart of Covent Garden, just minutes from The Strand and the London Transport Museum. Ideal for pre-theatre dinners, this Wellington Street branch of the ever popular Bella Italia chain of Italian restaurants is just minutes away from a handful of the capital's major theatres. Enjoy the well priced set menu or choose from the wide and varied a la carte menu. Whichever, you are sure to find some delicious food such as the Spaghetti Gamberi (spaghetti with prawns, Italian tomato sauce and a skewer of king prawns) or the Pollo Cacciatore (baked chicken breast with mozzarella, smoky bacon and tomato sauce and roasted vegetables and new potatoes or salad and fries.

“Friendly but not relaxing”
Reviewed May 21, 2013

We booked in advance fearing huge numbers of pre theatre diners. Upon arrival our reservation could not be found however this was not a problem and we were seated at a central table. This proved a tad wearing as we were constantly adjusting our chairs to allow for arriving diners and passing waiters as the restaurant is a tad bijou. Cannot fault service here, very attentive, however the quality of food varied with overpriced meagre starters and evidence of main courses having been kept warmed in the kitchen. This is an excellent location for theatre land but there are better venues in this chain for a dining experience.

“Great value for money”
Reviewed April 10, 2013

Close to the theaters, great welcome, plenty of seating. Food excellent value for money, good portions. Staff go out of their way to accommodate and the service is fast, friendly and efficient.
WOULD definitely recommend if you are in the area.

“Mixed feelings”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

Went with a friend whilst on a visit to London. Have always been a fan of Bella Italia but last visit in January and now this one in March were not up to the usual high standard. The staff were overly busy and one of the two meals looked and tasted as though it had been reheated at least twice. Shame as the location is good so will give it one more chance and then switch to another similar restaurant nearby.

“A great Italian experience”
Reviewed March 1, 2013

If you, like us, were looking for a quick Italian meal to fill you up, then this is the place.

After a day of sightseeing we were ready to eat and found Bella Italia after we had "done" Covent Garden. This is an attractive restaurant and very busy, which gave us some confidence. Busy staff were friendly and happy to recommend food. The service was brisk, which we admired, and the food very good with good portions. I had the spaghetti with meatballs which got to the spot straight away, and Yvonne had a very good Lasagne.

Recommended for a quick satisfying visit. £55 for the both of us

“Good little meal”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

You generally know what to expect with a chain restaurant, but this branch of Bella Italia was very enjoyable. After a visit to see the nearby Lion King this was a perfect drop in meal afterwards. Good helpful staff who recommended some good choices, all at a decent price too. Worth a visit for a pre/post theatre meal.
